Job Overview: The Area Manager position is crucial for the implementation of Handicap International's mandate and 10-year strategy within the country. Reporting to the Program Director, the Area Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality and impact of projects implemented in Sudan. This role involves managing the team on-site, contributing to the development and implementation of the operational strategy, and ensuring adherence to standards and expertise in project management. The Area Manager will also play a key role in emergency preparedness and response, particularly in the context of the ongoing crisis in Sudan, where HI is scaling up its response to meet the needs of affected populations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Area Manager will have several key missions, including: 1) Management of the on-site team, ensuring effective coordination and support for team members. 2) Contributing to the development and implementation of the programme operational strategy, including annual monitoring of progress. 3) Ensuring sound management and monitoring of projects under their responsibility, while identifying potential opportunities and risks. 4) Developing HI's external influence and representation in their area of responsibility, including participation in forums and strategic alliances. 5) Supporting the Program Director in monitoring security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security and ensuring adequate resources are allocated according to the context. 6) Structuring the base in terms of means and processes, including teams, premises, and coordination. 7) Launching and developing emergency interventions while adapting to contextual changes.
