Job Overview:
The Career Counseling Officer will play a crucial role in the implementation of the KFW Cash-for-Work youth employment project. This position involves outreach and engagement with youth to encourage applications for the program. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting field visits to various camps and educational institutions, maintaining relationships with UNRWA education institutes, and delivering career counseling services tailored to the needs of registered job seekers. The role requires the development of customized career plans, the delivery of employability sessions, and the supervision of peer trainers. The officer will also be responsible for data entry related to youth applications and ensuring that all necessary documentation is processed accurately. This position is vital for enhancing the employability of youth and supporting their transition into the workforce.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Career Counseling Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including: conducting regular field visits to camps and educational institutions to promote the KFW Cash-for-Work project; delivering individual capacity assessments to registered job seekers; providing customized career counseling sessions based on individual needs; referring youth to relevant life skills and vocational training courses; conducting intensive employability sessions for pre-screened youth; delivering training of trainers (TOT) sessions for youth peer trainers; following up with recruited youth to monitor their work status; processing payments and ensuring compliance with documentation requirements; maintaining accurate records of youth applications and work status on the ESC platform; contributing to monthly reports on youth innovation and employment; and performing any other tasks as assigned by the Employment Service Center Coordinator.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, analytical abilities, and the capacity to establish effective working relationships in a diverse team environment. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate a drive for results and the ability to work collaboratively with individuals from various backgrounds.

Educational Background:
A university degree in Psychology, Social Work, Human Resources, or a related discipline is required for this position. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of career counseling and the specific needs of the target population.

Experience:
A minimum of three years of relevant work experience in career counseling, career guidance, public employment, or similar activities is required. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to effectively support youth in their employment journey and provide valuable insights into the challenges they face in the job market.

Languages:
For this position, proficiency in English and Arabic is required. Candidates must demonstrate a minimum level of proficiency in both languages according to the UN Language Framework. Knowledge of French is considered an asset but is not mandatory.

Additional Notes:
The position is offered as a Limited Duration Contract (LDC) for a duration of six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The monthly salary for this position is USD 1,633.20, which includes a basic salary and a special allowance. Additional benefits include compulsory medical insurance, annual leave, sick leave, maternity and paternity leave, and family allowances where applicable. The position is open to both internal and external candidates, but only those residing in Lebanon and authorized to work in the country are eligible to apply.
