Job Overview:
The Supply Chain Officer SC8 position is crucial for the effective management of supply chain operations within WFP. The role involves providing analytics and contributions to supply chain activities, ensuring that food assistance needs of beneficiaries are met efficiently. The officer will be responsible for developing and implementing supply chain plans and procedures that align with WFP's global strategies. The officer will also engage in data collection and analysis, financial assessments, and market analysis to support decision-making processes. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Supply Chain Officer will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: contributing to the development and implementation of supply chain plans and procedures; conducting country context analyses; managing end-to-end operational supply chain and retail networks; collecting and analyzing data to identify opportunities for improvement; conducting financial analysis and budget reviews; collaborating with key supply chain functions; performing market analysis and supply chain network mapping; supporting supply chain projects and day-to-day operations; monitoring supply chain activities to ensure compliance with internal controls; managing service providers and vendors; preparing reports and dashboards on supply chain activities; guiding support staff; and contributing to emergency response efforts. The officer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that supply chain operations are efficient, cost-effective, and aligned with WFP's mission.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a first university degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Logistics, or related fields. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain operations, with at least one year in a supervisory role. The ideal candidate will have experience in analyzing operational contexts, supporting analytical work on supply chain strategy, and designing operational plans in collaboration with stakeholders. Proficiency in supply chain information systems and troubleshooting operational issues is also required. Strong analytical skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are essential.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a first university degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Economics, Business Administration, Logistics, or other related disciplines. This foundational education is critical for understanding the complexities of supply chain operations and for effectively contributing to WFP's mission.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in supply chain operations, with at least one year in a supervisory capacity. Candidates should have a proven track record of analyzing operational contexts and trends, supporting supply chain strategy implementation, and designing operational scenarios. Experience in end-to-end supply chain operations and familiarity with supply chain information systems are also necessary for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, with a proficiency level of C in both languages.
