Job Overview:
The Project Manager will lead and direct the development and implementation of company projects, managing both departmental and cross-functional teams. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are delivered on time and within budget, while also meeting the established goals and objectives. The Project Manager will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initiation through delivery, and will be responsible for organizing project activities to ensure successful completion. This position requires a strong leader who can motivate teams, manage resources effectively, and maintain a focus on project goals. The Project Manager will also be involved in strategic planning and will work closely with executive management to develop methods and techniques that align with organizational objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will be responsible for creating and maintaining a safe and equitable work environment, ensuring that all personnel are treated with respect and dignity. Key responsibilities include planning, directing, and coordinating project activities to meet deadlines and budget constraints. The Project Manager will review project proposals to determine necessary resources, establish work plans, and develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with policies. Additionally, the Project Manager will provide guidance and training to staff, establish partnerships with stakeholders, and lead the project team to ensure clarity in plans and priorities. The role also involves supporting performance management and professional development for direct reports, ensuring that all team members are aligned with the organization's values and objectives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess comprehensive knowledge of project management theories, concepts, and practices. Excellent project management skills are essential, along with strong oral and written communication abilities. The ideal candidate will have strong influencing and negotiation skills, as well as consultative skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are necessary to manage resources and ensure successful project completion. The ability to motivate and collaborate with others, as well as build positive relationships with local communities and government officials, is also required.

Educational Background:
A Bachelor's Degree or its international equivalent in fields such as Civil Society, Communication and Social Marketing, Economic Development, Education, Environment, Gender, Health, Nutrition, Research, Technology, Youth, or related fields is required. A Project Management (PM) Certification is preferred, indicating a formal understanding of project management principles and practices.

Experience:
Typically, candidates should have at least 10 years of relevant experience in project management, including a minimum of 5 years in a line management role. Experience with international development and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is essential, along with demonstrated experience in multi-sector project management and implementation. Candidates should also have a background in strategic planning, staff development, and capacity building, as well as experience leading complex projects that are both strategic and national/international in scope.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Proficiency in the host country language is also required, which will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and communities.

Additional Notes:
This position may require travel of approximately 10% to 25%. The job is based in an office environment, with typical physical demands including the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and to lift/move up to 5 lbs.
