Job Overview: The Cash, Medical, and Resettlement Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing staff who provide direct client services within the Program for Initial Resettlement (PIR) and Cash and Medical Assistance (CMA) Programs. This position involves planning and implementing programming, coordinating core service delivery, supervising staff, and ensuring that program goals are met while adhering to compliance and reporting responsibilities. The coordinator is expected to provide comprehensive services to clients, manage eligibility determinations, and facilitate access to essential resources such as medical care and financial assistance. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure the successful integration of clients into their new environments.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Cash, Medical, and Resettlement Coordinator include:
Providing comprehensive services to IRC clients enrolled in Refugee Cash Assistance, Refugee Medical Services, and Refuge Health Screening services.
Reviewing applications for accuracy and making eligibility determinations while ensuring compliance with donor requirements.
Conducting monthly redetermination meetings to track client participation in employment services.
Preparing enrollment packages, including necessary documentation as required by the Kansas Office for Refugees (KSOR).
Conducting orientations for clients regarding benefits and local health systems.
Assisting clients with billing issues and coordinating with providers for verification of insurance coverage.
Collaborating with KSOR and health clinic staff to schedule refugee health screenings.
Staying informed about changes to TANF policies, SNAP Employment & Training, and Medicaid policies, and their implications for clients.
Cultivating a respectful and inclusive environment for team members and clients. 1
Maintaining meticulous documentation and ensuring all deliverables are met as required by funders. 1
Attending funder-scheduled meetings and coordinating with key stakeholders. 1
Recruiting, training, and managing team members in accordance with IRC’s People Manager Standards. 1
Guiding the implementation of the PIR program and ensuring timely completion of core services. 1
Overseeing intake services and assessing client needs. 1
Monitoring program execution for compliance with funding requirements and communicating program needs to management. 1
Traveling as needed to transport clients and materials throughout the service delivery area.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the Cash, Medical, and Resettlement Coordinator position include:
A Bachelor’s degree, preferably in social work or a related field.
A minimum of two to three years of experience in implementing domestic refugee resettlement or similar programs.
Experience in supervising, supporting, and training staff is strongly preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to utilize digital tools for data entry and problem-solving.
Strong time management and prioritization skills.
Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with proficiency in a language spoken by client populations considered a plus.
Strong relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to foster internal and external relationships.
A self-starter attitude with excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in social work or a related field. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of social services and refugee resettlement processes, as well as for effectively managing the diverse needs of clients.
Experience: Candidates should possess a minimum of two to three years of relevant experience in implementing domestic refugee resettlement or similar programs. This experience should include a demonstrated ability to supervise and support staff, as well as a track record of successfully managing client services in a humanitarian context.
Languages: The mandatory language for this position is English, with excellent written and oral communication skills required. Proficiency in additional languages spoken by client populations is considered a valuable asset and is encouraged to enhance communication and service delivery.
Additional Notes: This position may require occasional weekend and/or evening work. The compensation for this role ranges from $25.20 to $26.00 per hour, with the exact offer depending on various factors such as labor market conditions, job type, and individual candidate experience.
