Job Overview: The Human Resources Officer will play a crucial role in managing and implementing human resources policies, practices, and procedures within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities: The Human Resources Officer will be responsible for a wide range of duties including: monitoring and ensuring the implementation of HR policies and procedures; preparing reports and leading special HR projects; managing vacancy management and staffing table control; overseeing recruitment processes including job openings and candidate selection; advising on the implementation of UN policies regarding entitlements; supervising the work of junior HR assistants; providing performance management advice; analyzing HR-related data to identify trends; and mediating conflict and grievance cases. The officer will also represent the office in discussions with hiring managers and coordinate various HR programs, ensuring that all activities align with the organization's objectives and comply with established regulations.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong understanding of human resources policies and practices, with the ability to apply them effectively in an organizational setting. Successful completion of degree and non-degree programs in data analytics, business analytics, or data science is considered an advantage, reflecting the increasing importance of data-driven decision-making in human resources management.
Experience: A minimum of seven years of progressively responsible experience in human resources management or administration is required. This experience should include at least three years of client support services in the HR area, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of staff regulations and policies. Candidates should have experience in supervising diverse HR teams and at least two years of experience in staff selection and recruitment. Experience in organizational change management and data analytics is desirable, reflecting the evolving nature of HR functions in modern organizations.
Languages: English is the required working language for this position, with a minimum proficiency level of UN Level II in reading, writing, listening, and speaking. Additional Notes: This position is temporarily available until June 30, 2026, to support the Office during the transition to the OneEO under the Common Administrative Platform in New York.
