Job Overview:

The intern will assist in implementing the digital impact strategy, which includes creating engaging digital content for social media platforms, particularly focusing on TikTok and YouTube. The role involves producing short video content, developing advocacy campaigns on UN priorities such as climate change and human rights, and translating materials for the UN Brazil website. Additionally, the intern will support the organization of events, outreach efforts, and partner engagement, contributing to the overall mission of UNIC Rio to enhance public understanding of the UN's work in Brazil. The internship is hybrid, allowing for a combination of home-based work and in-person meetings at the UNIC Rio office, and is expected to last between 4 to 6 months on a part-time basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern's duties will include: 1) Supporting the implementation of the digital impact strategy by assisting in the development of digital assets for social media, producing short video content, and supporting advocacy campaigns. 2) Conducting research to identify opportunities for increasing UN Brazil's digital presence. 3) Translating speeches, press releases, and articles between English and Portuguese. 4) Assisting in organizing events such as press conferences and public outreach activities. 5) Supporting outreach efforts with partners and the UN System in Brazil, including mapping potential partners and sponsors. 6) Updating and expanding mailing lists and maintaining relationships with suppliers. The daily responsibilities will be flexible and will adapt to the evolving needs of UNIC Rio and current global/local events.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for the internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program or be in the final academic year of a bachelor's degree program. Additionally, applicants should be computer literate in standard software applications, have a keen interest in the work of the United Nations, and demonstrate the ability to interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Experience with graphic design tools and content production for digital platforms is also required. The ability to draft press releases and social media posts is desirable. Educational Background:
Applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate program (second university degree or equivalent) or be in the final year of a bachelor's degree program. Experience:
While professional work experience is not required for this internship, candidates should have relevant academic experience or coursework that aligns with the internship's focus. The internship is open to students in their final year of a bachelor's degree, master's, or Ph.D. program, or those who have completed such programs.

Languages:
Fluency in oral and written Portuguese is required, along with knowledge of English. While English and French are the working languages of the UN Secretariat, proficiency in Portuguese is essential for this position.

The internship is unpaid and designed to be hybrid, with part-time hours. Interns are responsible for their own travel, visa, accommodation, and living expenses.
