The internship is hybrid, allowing for a combination of home-based work and in-person meetings at the UNIC Rio office, and is expected to last between 4 to 6 months on a part-time basis.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern's duties will include: 1) Supporting the implementation of the digital impact strategy by assisting in the development of digital assets for social media, producing short video content, and supporting advocacy campaigns. 2) Conducting research to identify opportunities for increasing UN Brazil's digital presence. 3) Translating speeches, press releases, and articles between English and Portuguese. 4) Assisting in organizing events such as press conferences and public outreach activities. 5) Supporting outreach efforts with partners and the UN System in Brazil, including mapping potential partners and sponsors. 6) Updating and expanding mailing lists and maintaining relationships with suppliers. The daily responsibilities will be flexible and will adapt to the evolving needs of UNIC Rio and current global/local events.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the internship, applicants must be enrolled in or have completed a graduate school program or be in the final academic year of a bachelor's degree program. Additionally, applicants should be computer literate in standard software applications, have a keen interest in the work of the United Nations, and demonstrate the ability to interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds. Experience with graphic design tools and content production for digital platforms is also required. The ability to draft press releases and social media posts is desirable.
