Job Overview: The Lead Exposure Program Analyst will play a crucial role in addressing the global health crisis of lead exposure, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. The position involves supporting the initiative aimed at reducing lead exposure through two main market interventions: accelerating the adoption of lead-free paints and safer substitutes, and shaping markets for point-of-care (POC) lead diagnostics. The analyst will conduct core research, market analysis, and stakeholder engagement, translating supply-chain and market diagnoses into actionable interventions at both country and state levels. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including governments, suppliers, manufacturers, and technical partners, to develop effective strategies and pilot programs that can significantly reduce lead exposure in India.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Lead Exposure Program Analyst will be responsible for conducting integrated market assessments of lead-based and lead-free paints, mapping supply chains, and compiling price and trade-flow data. The analyst will identify key manufacturers of lead-based pigments and assess the landscape of POC blood lead testing devices available in India. This includes evaluating promising Indian diagnostic innovations and analyzing barriers to scale for diagnostics. The analyst will lead key informant interviews with relevant stakeholders to understand incentives and constraints, synthesize findings to generate potential intervention ideas, and apply structured evaluation frameworks to prioritize these ideas. Additionally, the analyst will develop detailed pilot blueprints for selected interventions, including implementation plans, resource requirements, and risk assessments. The role also involves preparing implementation toolkits and facilitating stakeholder coordination to secure support for pilot roll-out.
