Job Overview:
The position is for an intern who will provide support to the security, safety, and access service through various tasks. The intern will participate in the functioning of the security unit, taking responsibility for specific tasks. This includes feeding the incident database and tracking information, compiling and disseminating the Security Watch bi-weekly, participating in security unit meetings at both ACF-France and ACF-IN, drafting meeting minutes, assisting the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">deputy director in preparing meeting materials, and following up on mandatory briefings for expatriates. The intern will also track training conducted by the security unit and on the ground, participate in crisis management activities, support regional security referents in their activities, conduct geopolitical context analyses upon request, and assist in managing and reviewing security documentation from country offices. Additionally, the intern may draft security management documents, such as specific contingency plans.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should be a master's student in fields related to security, international relations, risk management, humanitarian work, or any other related area. They should possess the ability to analyze, structure, and synthesize information, particularly on topics related to risks, security, or the operational environment. The candidate should be organized, capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously, and able to meet deadlines in an environment where priorities may shift. A strong motivation for meaningful work aligned with humanitarian values and involving collaboration with multicultural teams, both in France and internationally, is essential.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be enrolled in a master's program in relevant fields such as security, international relations, risk management, humanitarian studies, or related disciplines. A convention de stage (internship agreement) issued by a French educational institution is mandatory for this position.

Experience:
The position is designed for interns, so prior professional experience is not strictly required. However, any relevant experience in security, humanitarian work, or related fields will be considered an asset. The candidate should demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to the dynamic environment of humanitarian operations.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as the working language will primarily be French. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for communication with international teams and documentation. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the regions of operation would be considered a plus.

  • The internship is compensated at a rate of 4.57 euros net per hour, based on a 35-hour work week, with a total weekly working time of 38.75 hours. Additionally, meal vouchers worth 8 euros are provided, with 60% covered by ACF, and 50% of public transport costs are reimbursed.
