Job Overview: The position of Affiliate for Knowledge Management and Communications Support is crucial for the Skills & Leadership Section (SLS) of UNHCR. This role is designed to enhance the organization's workforce capabilities by leading the Skills Strategy and delivering on performance management, career development, and leadership initiatives. The affiliate will be responsible for maintaining and organizing knowledge assets, managing SharePoint sites, and providing communications support. The role requires a proactive approach to ensure that SLS resources are accessible and effectively communicated to colleagues across the organization. The affiliate will also engage in administrative tasks to support the overall functioning of the team, ensuring that all resources are well-structured and up-to-date. This position is integral to promoting better access to SLS resources and enhancing communication across various portfolios within UNHCR.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Affiliate for Knowledge Management and Communications Support include: A. Knowledge Management: Maintain and organize SLS knowledge assets, ensuring clear taxonomy and proper archiving; support structured repositories for Leadership & Performance and Skills Strategy workstreams; conduct periodic content reviews and propose improvements. B. SharePoint Site Management: Update and manage SLS Team SharePoint pages, ensuring accuracy and accessibility; coordinate content updates with technical focal points; monitor permissions and troubleshoot issues. C. Communications & Design Support: Create visual materials using Canva; coordinate events and webinars; draft internal communications; ensure consistency with UNHCR branding. D. Portfolio Support: Maintain updated resources and tools within the Management & Leadership portfolio; support communications around leadership development initiatives. E. Administrative Coordination: Assist with scheduling, consolidating inputs, and preparing materials for meetings; maintain trackers and logs as requested. Deliverables include well-structured SharePoint pages, organized repositories, and regular communication materials supporting SLS visibility.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include: - Experience in knowledge management, digital content organization, or SharePoint administration. - Strong communication and drafting skills. - Ability to produce polished visual materials using Canva. - Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Desirable qualifications include an understanding of UNHCR platforms and prior experience in HR, learning, or leadership development functions.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a minimum of a High School Diploma with 3 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 2 years of relevant work experience.
