Job Overview:
Under the supervision of the Technical Operational Referent SMSP for the West Africa, Southern Africa, and France Mission Pool, you will be responsible for strengthening the technical capacities of local partners and teams, developing SMSP expertise within programs, and supporting teams in their onboarding and implementation of interventions in accordance with international standards. This role requires a proactive approach to capacity building and the integration of specific expertise into the strategy and positioning of the SMSP technical department. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that the interventions are effective and aligned with the organization's mission to combat hunger and support vulnerable populations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Strengthening the capacities of Action contre la Faim staff and partners through training and technical supervision in SMSP.
  • Supporting the implementation of SMSP components of projects.
  • Contributing to the integration of specific expertise into the strategy and positioning of the SMSP technical department.
  • Designing and implementing SMSP needs and resource assessments, psychological and psychosocial interventions.
  • Developing and delivering participatory training sessions, facilitating supervisions, and creating or adapting SMSP SOPs and protocols.
  • Managing SMSP information and reports, collaborating with other sectors while ensuring compliance with legal, ethical, and deontological standards in SMSP.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology and have at least 5 years of experience in SMSP within humanitarian or development contexts. This experience should include training, supervision, or support of local teams as well as project management. Familiarity with monitoring and evaluation tools, WHO tools (PM+, mhGAP, PFA, community interventions), and mastery of international standards such as IASC MHPSS is essential. The candidate should also have strong analytical, synthesis, communication, and leadership skills to effectively manage information and reports.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in Clinical Psychology is required for this position. This educational background is crucial as it provides the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to effectively address the psychological and psychosocial needs of individuals in crisis situations.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in SMSP, particularly in humanitarian or development settings. This experience should encompass training, supervision, and support of local teams, as well as project management, ensuring that the candidate is well-equipped to handle the responsibilities of the role.

Languages:
Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This position is a fixed-term contract under French law for a duration of 5 months. The gross monthly salary ranges from 2597 to 2968 euros, depending on experience, and includes a 13th-month salary. Non-French citizens will receive a retirement insurance reimbursement of 16% of the gross monthly salary. There is a specific multi-country position allowance of 15% of the gross monthly salary, and a base salary increase of 6% every 12 months of continuous contract. Per diem and monthly living expenses will be provided based on the work location (Mozambique or Côte d'Ivoire). An annual child allowance of 1500 euros per child is available, with a maximum of 6000 euros per year. Transportation and accommodation costs will be covered, and medical coverage includes 100% reimbursement of health insurance contributions and medical expenses for the employee and dependents (if applicable) for up to one month after the contract ends. Salary maintenance provisions are in place for illness, maternity, and paternity. Employees are entitled to 25 days of annual leave and 20 rest and recuperation days per year, with travel expenses covered for breaks, along with a fixed allowance of 215 euros per RnR.
