Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst Consultant will work closely with the Programme Specialist for Adolescent and Youth Development (AYD) and the Programme Coordinator for Regions, collaborating with the Regional Programme Officer in Sidama Region. This role involves planning and coordinating the implementation of activities at regional and district levels, representing UNFPA's mandate on youth development, sexual reproductive health (SRH), gender-based violence (GBV), and youth empowerment. The consultant will monitor the results achieved during implementation, guide the application of systems and procedures, and develop enhancements as necessary. The position requires a proactive approach to building adaptive resilience for youth affected by conflict, HIV prevention, and addressing gender and youth issues. The consultant will also be responsible for establishing collaborative relationships with various stakeholders, including government entities, NGOs, and academic institutions, to promote and integrate issues related to SRH, GBV, mental health and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support (MHPSS), and youth peace and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Analyst Consultant will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including: planning and coordinating the implementation of activities at regional and district levels; representing UNFPA's mandate in the region; assisting regional counterparts in developing strategy documents and plans; establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with stakeholders; identifying bottlenecks in program implementation and proposing solutions; providing training to relevant staff on youth development and related issues; promoting the participation of vulnerable groups in program implementation; providing technical support for the implementation of UNFPA's country programs; conducting regular visits to project areas; participating in joint assessments during humanitarian crises; organizing coordinating meetings with implementing partners; preparing comprehensive technical and financial reports; and providing technical assistance in preparing funding authorization forms.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree (MA/MSc) in public health, social science, behavioral science, social work, or social psychology. They should have a minimum of three years of progressive experience in areas such as adolescents and youth development, sexual reproductive health, gender-based violence, or youth peace and security. Proficiency in English is required, and knowledge of other UN languages is considered an advantage. Candidates should also have practical experience in the design, monitoring, and evaluation of development projects, as well as proficiency in office software and web-based management systems.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree in relevant fields such as public health, social science, behavioral science, social work, or social psychology. This advanced education is essential for understanding the complexities of the issues related to adolescents and youth development, sexual reproductive health, and gender-based violence.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of progressive experience in relevant fields, particularly in HIV prevention, adolescent and youth development, and reproductive health. This experience should demonstrate the candidate's ability to effectively contribute to program implementation and management in a complex environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of other official UN languages is desirable and can enhance a candidate's profile, particularly in a multicultural and international work environment.
