Job Overview: The Sr. Cloud Engineer at WWF plays a crucial role in supporting and maintaining the organization's technology systems, with a primary focus on online infrastructure in Azure. This position involves managing resources in AWS and Google Cloud as needed, as well as supporting O365, servers, virtual machines (VMs), operating systems, security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security, and networking across both cloud and on-premises environments. The engineer will ensure the stability and security of WWF’s cloud-based systems, develop backup strategies, troubleshoot network connectivity, and maintain the Azure environment. This role requires a proactive approach to managing complex cloud environments and a commitment to continuous improvement in technology capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Sr. Cloud Engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting WWF’s Azure infrastructure, including provisioning new subscriptions, resources, and roles to support various organizational programs and initiatives. Key responsibilities include ensuring the stability, resiliency, and robust protection of all cloud-based systems within WWF, developing and executing system backup strategies, analyzing and troubleshooting network connectivity across Azure resources, and maintaining and optimizing the Azure environment. The engineer will administer various Azure virtual machines, including Windows domain controllers, IIS servers, SQL database servers, and Red Hat Enterprise VMs. Additionally, the role involves creating and updating Azure Enterprise Apps for Single Sign-On, managing DNS services within Azure and Cloudflare, and developing a High Availability and Disaster Recovery playbook. The engineer will also serve as an escalation point for complex issues related to Azure, Entra ID, RBAC, and Office365, and will be responsible for regularly updating and patching systems to align with security requirements and best practices.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a bachelor’s degree in IT or a related field, along with at least 8 years of experience managing enterprise IT systems for organizations of equal or larger size. Extensive hands-on experience with highly available and resilient Azure production systems is essential, as well as in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure services, cloud architecture, cloud networking, Entra ID, Office365, and both Windows and Linux servers. Significant expertise in building, deploying, and managing virtual machines in Azure is required, along with a history of applying structured thinking to diagnose complex cloud or hybrid system issues. Proficiency in managing Windows domains and Active Directory, advanced skills in configuring Microsoft Entra tenants and domains, and experience with PowerShell and Graph API for Azure management are also necessary. Familiarity with technologies such as Fabric, Power BI, and Azure Foundry is a plus, as is experience integrating Microsoft Copilot into enterprise Azure/O365 environments.
Educational Background: A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field is required for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding complex IT systems and cloud architectures, which are critical for the role of Sr. Cloud Engineer.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in managing enterprise IT systems, particularly in environments that are equal to or larger than WWF. Candidates should have extensive hands-on experience with Azure production systems and a proven track record of diagnosing and resolving complex cloud or hybrid system issues. Experience with enterprise-scale infrastructure and cloud architecture is essential, as well as familiarity with emerging technologies and automation.
Languages: While English is the mandatory language for this position, the ability to communicate in Spanish is considered a plus. Proficiency in multiple languages can enhance communication within diverse teams and with various stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is full-time and requires applicants to be legally authorized to work in the United States. It is important to note that this role is not eligible for employment visa sponsorship. The salary range for this position is between $130,400 and $187,40
