Job Overview: The RDF Sustainability, Policy and Operations Advisor position is designed to provide expert guidance and support in the areas of sustainability, policy formulation, and operational strategies. The advisor will be responsible for analyzing and advising on sustainability practices within the context of UNDP's operations in Indonesia. This role requires a deep understanding of environmental policies, sustainable development goals, and the ability to integrate these into operational frameworks. The position is expected to last for a period of 45 working days, during which the advisor will engage in research, policy analysis, and the development of operational strategies that align with UNDP's mission and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the RDF Sustainability, Policy and Operations Advisor include but are not limited to:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of current sustainability practices within UNDP operations in Indonesia.
Developing and recommending policies that promote sustainability and align with national and international standards.
Collaborating with government and non-governmental organizations to implement sustainability initiatives.
Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of sustainability policies and initiatives.
Preparing reports and presentations on sustainability issues and progress for stakeholders.
Engaging in stakeholder consultations to gather input and feedback on sustainability strategies.
Staying updated on global sustainability trends and best practices to inform local strategies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the RDF Sustainability, Policy and Operations Advisor position must possess a strong background in sustainability, environmental policy, or a related field. Required qualifications include:
Proven experience in sustainability policy development and implementation.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex sustainability issues.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment.
Familiarity with UNDP's mission and operational frameworks is an advantage.
Educational Background: A minimum of a Master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Public Policy, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates with additional certifications in sustainability or project management will be considered favorably. A strong academic background that demonstrates knowledge of sustainability practices and policies is essential.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in sustainability, policy analysis, or operational management. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in the context of development projects, is highly desirable. Proven track record of successful project management and stakeholder engagement is also important.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as all communications and documentation will be conducted in English. Knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is highly desirable and will be considered an asset, as it will facilitate better engagement with local stakeholders and communities.
Additional Notes: This position is offered as an individual contractor role, with a contract duration of 45 working days. The advisor will be expected to work full-time during this period.
