Job Overview: The Project Task Analyst will play a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of the BES-Net Phase II project in Armenia. This position involves ensuring the timely development and execution of multi-year work and budget plans while facilitating participatory processes among stakeholders. The analyst will focus on maximizing the impact of the BES Solution Fund, which aims to integrate biodiversity considerations into national policies and scale up successful interventions. The role requires close collaboration with the IPBES national focal point and the global BES-Net team to raise awareness and enhance engagement with IPBES initiatives in Armenia. The analyst will also be responsible for developing methodologies for ecosystem services evaluation and supporting pilot applications of these methodologies.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Project Task Analyst will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:
Technical Functions: Studying national legislation related to biodiversity conservation, reviewing IPBES assessment reports, ensuring cooperation with state authorities and stakeholders, and providing technical assistance for project activities.
Outreach, Communication, and Gender: Leading workshops and conferences, collaborating on publications, conducting targeted training sessions, and supporting gender components in project activities.
Project Implementation: Coordinating project activities, contributing to procurement actions, ensuring high-quality documentation, and monitoring project performance.
Knowledge Sharing: Supporting knowledge building and sharing activities related to the project, ensuring effective communication with project partners, and maintaining synergies in project implementation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in fields such as Agriculture, Environmental Sciences, International Relations, or Business Administration. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (bachelor’s degree) combined with two additional years of relevant experience will be considered. Required skills include experience in project design, planning, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as proficiency in office software and web-based management systems. Experience within international development organizations is also essential.
Educational Background: An advanced university degree (master’s degree or equivalent) in relevant fields is required. Candidates with a bachelor’s degree must have at least two years of relevant professional experience. The educational background should ideally include studies related to biodiversity conservation, environmental management, or international relations.
Experience: The position requires applicants with a master’s degree to have no prior professional experience, while those with a bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of two years of relevant experience in project implementation and management. Experience in project design, monitoring, and evaluation is crucial, along with familiarity with international development practices.
Languages: Fluency in English and Armenian is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

The role is full-time and may require participation in both local and international meetings and workshops.
