Job Overview: The UNV Senior Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Associate will work under the supervision of the Assistant Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Officer. This role involves supporting partnerships and coordination with government, private sector, development actors, and NGOs to advance refugee economic inclusion. The associate will advocate for the inclusion of persons of concern in public and private services, ensuring that interventions are market-based and aligned with UNHCR strategies. The position also entails monitoring partner activities, contributing to socioeconomic surveys, and preparing reports to inform programming. The associate will play a crucial role in organizing workshops and capacity-building activities with partners and communities, ensuring that all activities are documented and recommendations for improvements are made.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the UNV Senior Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Associate include:
Supporting engagement with various stakeholders to advance refugee economic inclusion.
Advocating for the inclusion of persons of concern in public and private services such as training, financial services, and social protection.
Coordinating with internal units to ensure integrated programming.
Contributing to the design and refinement of livelihoods and economic inclusion programs.
Providing technical support to ensure interventions are market-based.
Monitoring partner activities through field visits and reports.
Supporting the review of Small Grants Agreements with grassroots actors.
Contributing to socioeconomic surveys and labor market assessments.
Preparing concise field reports and analytical inputs for planning and advocacy. 1
Organizing workshops and capacity-building activities with partners and communities. 1
Documenting area-related actions and defining recommendations for enhancing refugee economic inclusion. 1
Ensuring effective coordination and follow-up with partners at national and local levels. 1

Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the UNV Senior Livelihood and Economic Inclusion Associate position include a demonstrated understanding of operations relevant to UNHCR, technical capabilities or knowledge relevant to UNHCR procedures, discretion, political sensitivity, and the ability to liaise with various actors. Advanced degrees may be preferred, and candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of refugee issues and economic inclusion strategies.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a minimum of several years of relevant experience in livelihoods and economic inclusion programming, preferably within the context of refugee assistance or humanitarian work. Experience in partnership development, program design, and monitoring and evaluation is highly desirable. Candidates should also have experience working with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, NGOs, and community organizations.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of Polish or other languages relevant to the refugee population in Poland is considered an asset. Candidates should possess strong written and verbal communication skills in the required languages to effectively engage with various stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This is a national UN Volunteer assignment, and the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The monthly living allowance is PLN 11,335.32, with an entry lump sum of USD 40
Medical and life insurance is provided through Cigna Private Insurance. Leave entitlements include 2.5 days of annual leave accrued per calendar month, 30 days of certified sick leave, 7 days of uncertified sick leave, and 10 days of learning leave per consecutive 12 months. Maternity leave is 16 weeks, and paternity leave is 10 days. An extension of the assignment may be possible, subject to the availability of funds.
