Job Overview:
The Digital Communications Manager position is a pivotal role within the communications team at the International Rescue Committee in Sweden, specifically based in Stockholm. This role is designed to enhance the visibility and brand recognition of the IRC in Sweden, aligning with the organization's broader influencing and fundraising objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive digital strategy in collaboration with the communications and fundraising teams in Sweden. This includes optimizing the organization's website and implementing best practices for search engine optimization (SEO) to support fundraising efforts. The Digital Communications Manager will also lead analytics for the IRC's digital channels, ensuring that performance metrics are tracked and analyzed to inform strategic decisions. The role requires a strong understanding of the humanitarian aid sector and the ability to engage effectively with various online audiences. The position reports to both the Director of Communications in Sweden and the Senior Director of Digital Engagement based in New York, necessitating close collaboration with digital teams across multiple international locations, including London, Brussels, and Seoul, as well as fundraising and advocacy colleagues in Sweden.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Digital Communications Manager will undertake a variety of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Creating and implementing a digital strategy in partnership with the Sweden Communications and Fundraising teams.
  • Developing and refining website content and SEO practices to enhance brand visibility and support fundraising initiatives.
  • Leading the analytics efforts for RESCUE Sverige's digital channels, ensuring alignment with global digital performance metrics.
  • Providing regular reports on digital performance, utilizing data to inform decisions that enhance engagement and conversion rates.
  • Maintaining an editorial calendar for RESCUE Sverige to ensure timely and relevant content delivery.
  • Serving as the content and strategy lead for social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, to grow the supporter base in Sweden.
  • Managing paid advertising campaigns to boost brand awareness and engagement on Meta and Google platforms.
  • Collaborating with influencers and relevant social media accounts to expand RESCUE Sverige's reach.
  • Producing and adapting high-quality visual and graphic content for digital platforms, including social-first video and images. 1
  • Contributing to the organization's storytelling strategy to ensure relevance to Swedish audiences.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Digital Communications Manager position must possess a degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience in communications or marketing" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">digital marketing. They should have a proven track record of analyzing digital campaigns and utilizing tools such as Google Analytics to inform strategy. A solid understanding of SEO principles, including keyword research and application, is essential. Experience in growing audiences on social media platforms, particularly LinkedIn and Instagram, is required. The ability to work under tight deadlines while delivering high-quality content is crucial. Proficiency in both Swedish and English, with strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, is necessary. Additionally, candidates should have excellent creative skills in design and video editing, with proficiency in tools such as Adobe XD, Illustrator, InDesign, and Premier Pro or similar platforms. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building effective working relationships within the organization and with external partners.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Digital Communications Manager position includes a degree in communications, marketing, digital media, or a related field. Alternatively, candidates may qualify through equivalent relevant experience in a similar role.
