The Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is a unique partnership that includes governments, intergovernmental organizations, private sector representatives, and members of civil society. Established to address the urgent need for integrated climate and clean air solutions, the CCAC focuses on reducing emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) such as methane, black carbon, HFCs, and tropospheric ozone. The CCAC is hosted by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) at its Secretariat located in Paris. The coalition aims to promote fast action to mitigate climate change and improve air quality, thereby enhancing public health and environmental sustainability. Job Overview:
The Dialogue Facilitator will play a crucial role in facilitating discussions during three key sessions, ensuring that all participants are actively engaged and that the discussions are productive and informative. The facilitator will be responsible for organizing and leading discussions that cover critical topics related to SLCP science, policy impacts, and finance. This role requires not only strong facilitation skills but also a deep understanding of environmental issues, particularly those related to climate change and air quality. The facilitator will also be tasked with delivering well-structured discussions that will be recorded and edited for broader dissemination, including a multimedia summary that captures the essence of the discussions in both video and audio formats. The expected duration of this engagement is nine months, during which the facilitator will ensure that the sessions are impactful and contribute to the overarching goals of the CCAC.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary duties and responsibilities of the Dialogue Facilitator include:
  • Efficiently facilitating three sessions, ensuring active participation and engagement from all panellists.
  • Delivering well-organized discussions that cover essential topics related to SLCP science, policy impacts, and finance.
  • Submitting post-produced recordings of each session, along with a concise multimedia summary that includes both video and audio formats.
  • Collaborating with CCAC members to prepare for the sessions and ensure that all necessary materials are available.
  • Moderating discussions effectively, guiding conversations to ensure that all relevant points are addressed and that participants feel comfortable sharing their insights.
  • Following up with participants post-session to gather feedback and insights that can be used to improve future discussions.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate for the Dialogue Facilitator position should possess the following qualifications:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as humanities, communications, or environmental studies.
  • At least 7 years of experience in facilitating dialogues, workshops, or conferences, with a proven track record in moderating discussions on environmental topics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
  • A deep understanding of climate change issues and air quality, particularly related to SLCPs.

Educational Background:
Candidates must have at least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. This could include areas such as humanities, communications, environmental science, or related disciplines that provide a solid foundation for understanding the complexities of climate and air quality issues.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in facilitating dialogues, workshops, or conferences. Candidates should have a proven track record of moderating discussions specifically focused on environmental topics, ideally with a strong emphasis on climate change and air quality issues. This level of experience is essential to ensure that the facilitator can effectively guide discussions and engage participants meaningfully.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication during the sessions.
