Job Overview: The Reporting Officer position is crucial for the effective functioning of the Programme Management Unit (PMU) within the World Health Organization's Country Office in Sudan. The incumbent will report directly to the PMU Manager and will work closely with other PMU members and technical units to ensure accurate and timely reporting of health data and activities. This role involves developing and facilitating technical reports on various awards received by the country office, ensuring that all reports are grounded in accurate health data and evidence-based information. The Reporting Officer will also be responsible for knowledge management related to the Sudan Health Assistance and Response to Emergencies (SHARE) Project, supporting the implementation of missions, and creating presentations and infographics that highlight the impact of WHO's partnerships and initiatives. The position requires strong analytical skills to monitor project management processes, identify challenges, and document success stories that reflect the positive outcomes of WHO's interventions in the region.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Reporting Officer will undertake a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: reviewing, developing, and editing donor proposals and reports; acting as a focal point for knowledge management for the SHARE Project; supporting implementation missions and the development of presentations and infographics; tracking actions related to project implementation and ensuring deadlines are met; analyzing project management processes and performance; collaborating with technical and communication teams to document success stories; and performing other related tasks as assigned by the responsible officer. The role requires ongoing communication with staff at all levels within WHO, including regional and headquarters offices, to facilitate advice and information exchange.
Required Qualifications: Candidates for the Reporting Officer position should possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey information clearly and effectively. Additional Notes: The Reporting Officer position is classified as a non-family duty station in Port Sudan, which is designated as a Category E hardship location. The Rest and Recuperation (R&R) cycle for this duty station is four weeks, and movement of international staff is restricted to UN vehicles. The role requires flexibility and a willingness to adapt to potentially hazardous living conditions. WHO will provide housing arrangements for the international UN Volunteer, along with a living allowance to support a basic and safe lifestyle in the duty station. This allowance varies based on local living costs, ensuring that all international UN Volunteers in the same location receive equitable support.
