Job Overview:
The ET Consultant - Treasury position at IFC is designed for a dynamic finance professional who will work within the Client Solutions & Structuring department (TRECS). This role involves providing structuring expertise and advisory services for financial products offered by the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD), International Development Association (IDA), and IFC. The consultant will focus on structured finance products, including securitizations, guarantees, covered bonds, and risk-sharing facilities. The position requires the candidate to analyze financial models and data to structure transactions effectively, contributing to the development of local currency funding and risk management solutions for clients in the Asia Pacific region. The role is integral to the WBG's mission of creating opportunities and improving lives through innovative financial solutions.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the ET Consultant include:
  • Contributing to the day-to-day business delivery across TRECS products, programs, and markets by developing, structuring, and facilitating the execution of local currency, funding, and risk management transactions for WBG’s clients.
  • Performing historical performance analysis on credit portfolios, including vintage analysis and assessing marginal and cumulative default rates over time.
  • Assisting in the structuring of local currency and funding solutions for clients through derivative and other treasury instruments.
  • Preparing documents for business development and investment decision committees.
  • Contributing to business development efforts and explaining treasury products to clients, regulators, and banks.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including investment banks, local banks, capital markets firms, development finance institutions, and regulators.
  • Applying financial models to structure, evaluate, and price transactions.
  • Providing training and knowledge management services to colleagues and external clients.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for the ET Consultant position include:
  • An MBA or Master's degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, Mathematics, Law, or a related area.
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in finance, with a focus on structured finance and/or derivatives.
  • A sound understanding of fixed income instruments combined with strong analytical skills, problem-solving capabilities, and financial modeling skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to structure and analyze various fixed income instruments for corporate clients, including local currency loans, derivatives, bonds, and structured finance.
  • A solid understanding of asset-and-liability management is considered a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to work in teams, attention to detail, and resourcefulness.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, with fluency in another language being a plus.

Educational Background:

The ET Consultant position is a local recruitment opportunity with a term duration of one year. As per WBG policy, an Extended Term (ET) appointment is subject to a lifetime maximum of three years. Candidates who have completed or are in the process of completing their third-year ET appointment are not eligible for future ET appointments.
