Job Overview:
The position of Multimedia Content Support for Public Information and Outreach involves working closely with the Public Information and Communications Section of UNSMIL. The role is focused on developing digital communications content, including videos and graphics, to support the Libyan political process and public outreach campaigns. The Online Volunteers will be responsible for conceptualizing, producing, and editing multimedia content that will be disseminated across UNSMIL's digital platforms. This role is crucial in promoting transparency and countering misinformation in a complex information environment. Volunteers will have the opportunity to enhance their skills in digital storytelling, graphic design, video production, and strategic communications while collaborating in a multicultural environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Online Volunteers will be tasked with designing up to 5 social media graphics, which may be static or animated, based on provided messaging. They will also produce or edit up to 7 short social media videos, which may include basic editing, adding subtitles, or captions as required. The volunteers will receive background materials and source content to assist in their content development. Regular coordination calls via Zoom or Microsoft Teams will be expected to ensure timely feedback and close collaboration with the communications team. This role is essential for supporting the outreach efforts related to the political roadmap and the Structured Dialogue in Libya.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should possess experience in digital content creation, graphic design, and video production. A strong understanding of social media platforms and their best practices is essential. Creativity and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment are also important. Familiarity with the political context in Libya and the objectives of UNSMIL will be beneficial. Volunteers should be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.

Educational Background:
A background in communications, media studies, graphic design, or a related field is preferred. Candidates should have relevant training or coursework that demonstrates their ability to create engaging digital content. A portfolio showcasing previous work in multimedia content creation will be advantageous.

Experience:
Experience in digital storytelling, graphic design, and video production is required. Candidates should have a proven track record of creating content for social media and other digital platforms. Previous experience working with international organizations or in a multicultural environment is a plus, as it demonstrates the ability to navigate diverse perspectives and collaborate effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as all communications and content will be developed in this language. Knowledge of Arabic is highly desirable, as it will facilitate better engagement with the local audience and enhance the effectiveness of outreach efforts. Additional languages may be considered an asset, depending on the context of the work.
