  • The mission was created in accordance with settlement proposals accepted on August 30, 1988, by Morocco and the Frente Popular para la Liberación de Saguia el-Hamra y de Río de Oro (Frente POLISARIO). The primary mission of MINURSO is to oversee a referendum that allows the people of Western Sahara to choose between independence and integration with Morocco. The organization is composed of an integrated group of civilian, military, and police personnel, all working under the guidance of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General, who has exclusive responsibility over referendum-related matters. MINURSO operates in a challenging environment, focusing on humanitarian efforts and the promotion of peace and stability in the region.

Job Overview:
The Paramedic Emergency Nurse plays a crucial role in providing high-quality emergency and pre-hospital care within the MINURSO framework. This position involves trauma management and retrieval services, ensuring timely medical intervention for critically ill or injured patients, often in situations where direct supervision from a medical doctor is not available. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Paramedic Emergency Nurse will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: participating in the daily clinical operations of the mission's Medical Unit; performing clinical assessments of patients visiting the clinic and providing appropriate care or referrals; delivering emergency pre-hospital care and trauma management; providing advanced life support and treatment for critically ill patients in austere environments; maintaining accurate and confidential electronic medical records; assisting in medical evacuations and retrieval operations, including both air and ground transport; conducting health assessments and participating in preventive health programs; supporting training initiatives such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and mass casualty incidents for personnel; ensuring compliance with UN medical protocols and safety standards; participating in emergency preparedness and response planning; and performing other duties as required by the Chief Medical Officer.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Paramedic Emergency Nurse position must possess a strong foundation in emergency medical care, demonstrating professionalism and adherence to ethical standards.
