Job Overview:
The Grants Manager will play a crucial role in managing grants and partnerships for Action contre la Faim. This position involves overseeing the entire project cycle, ensuring that grants management processes are implemented effectively and efficiently. The Grants Manager will lead the development of high-quality proposals in collaboration with program and operations teams, support the funding strategy, and manage all internal and external reporting processes. Additionally, the role includes managing the grants team, building their capacity, and engaging with donors to maintain strong, long-term relationships. The Grants Manager will also provide strategic oversight of partnership and localization activities, demonstrating a commitment to promoting Gender Equality and adhering to ACF's Gender Minimum Standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Grants Manager will be responsible for the following duties:
  • Lead the development and implementation of grants management processes across the entire project cycle, ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Coordinate high-quality proposal development with program and operations teams, ensuring alignment with the funding strategy.
  • Manage all internal and external reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to donors.
  • Oversee the grants team, providing guidance and support to enhance their skills and performance.
  • Engage with donors to build and maintain strong, long-term relationships, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide strategic oversight of partnership and localization activities, ensuring alignment with ACF's mission and objectives.
  • Promote Gender Equality and ACF's Gender Minimum Standards in all aspects of grant management and partnerships.
  • Contribute to the overall country office strategy and objectives, ensuring that grant management processes support the organization's mission.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Grants Manager position should possess the following qualifications:
  • A degree in fundraising, public relations, communications, development, humanitarian aid, or international relations.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in humanitarian and/or development fundraising, specifically from institutional donors within an NGO context.
  • Proven ability to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent proposal and report writing skills tailored for a variety of donors.
  • Familiarity with sector-related terminology and concepts.
  • Strong managerial competencies, including flexibility, results orientation, and leadership skills to guide and develop the grants team.
  • Capacity-building expertise to strengthen the skills of team members, other departments, and partners.
  • Exceptional English writing, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for the Grants Manager position includes a degree in relevant fields such as fundraising, public relations, communications, development, humanitarian aid, or international relations. This educational foundation is essential for understanding the complexities of grant management and the humanitarian sector.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of relevant experience in humanitarian and/or development fundraising, particularly from institutional donors. Candidates should have a proven track record of managing grants and partnerships, demonstrating their ability to navigate the challenges of fundraising in a humanitarian context.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, particularly in writing and communication. Additional language skills may be beneficial but are not specified as mandatory.

Additional Notes:
The position offers a 12-month contract, with specific conditions for national and international applications. For national applications, the contract will adhere to ACF's internal and national salary conditions in Afghanistan. For international applications, the contract will be fixed-term under French legislation, with a monthly gross salary ranging from 2597 to 2968 euros based on experience, including a 13th-month payment. Additional benefits include reimbursement of pension insurance for non-French citizens, annual salary increases, monthly per diem and living allowances, cold allowances for winter equipment, child allowances, coverage of transportation and accommodation costs, and comprehensive medical coverage. Employees are entitled to 25 days of paid leave per year, 20 rest and recuperation days, and airfare reimbursement for chosen break destinations.
