Job Overview: The Education Project Officer will play a crucial role in monitoring and reporting on project activities, ensuring compliance with established plans and NRC standards. The officer will be responsible for distributing school materials, leading training sessions, and assisting teachers to enhance the quality of educational programs. Additionally, the officer will support the Education Coordinator and other staff in conducting assessments and surveys, as well as managing budgeting and administrative tasks related to education activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Education Project Officer will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: monitoring and reporting on project activities, ensuring compliance with NRC standards; collaborating with community education committees for planning and enrollment; distributing and monitoring school materials; leading training sessions and implementing project activities; assisting teachers in their roles; reporting education-related concerns; conducting data collection and preparing field reports; maintaining project-specific documents; mobilizing community participation in educational activities; developing project materials; supporting assessments and surveys; managing budgeting and accounting tasks; providing translation support as needed; adhering to NRC security protocols; delivering trainings on various topics such as gender, climate change, and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support; and supporting local education offices in field implementation.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess at least a BA degree in a relevant field, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with NRC education projects in a humanitarian or recovery context. Previous experience in complex and volatile environments is essential, as well as documented results related to the responsibilities of the position. Strong administrative, accounting, and reporting skills are required, along with proficiency in English and computer skills. Training and facilitation skills are also important, as is the ability to work under pressure and independently.
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required for this position. The educational background should be complemented by relevant experience in the education sector, particularly in humanitarian or recovery contexts. Candidates should demonstrate a strong understanding of educational methodologies and practices, as well as the ability to adapt to the specific needs of the communities served.
