The consultant will support the development of a comprehensive procurement strategy, establish timelines, and create tender documentation. Additionally, the consultant will assist throughout the evaluation process, contract finalization, transition planning, and onboarding of the insurance provider. The assignment is expected to take place over a period of 45 days between February 2026 and December 2026, during which the consultant will play a key role in ensuring that the insurance needs of UN Volunteers are met effectively and efficiently.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant will have a range of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: conducting a thorough analysis of the current insurance coverage for UN Volunteers; researching and analyzing international insurance market trends to inform the procurement strategy; collaborating with UNV stakeholders to gather requirements and expectations for the insurance coverage; developing a detailed procurement strategy that outlines the approach for selecting a new insurance provider; preparing tender documentation that clearly articulates the needs and expectations of UNV; facilitating the evaluation process of bids received from potential insurance providers; assisting in the finalization of contracts with the selected provider; planning and coordinating the transition to the new insurance provider, ensuring minimal disruption to coverage; and providing ongoing support and guidance throughout the onboarding process of the new provider.
