Job Overview:
The Driver position at FAO involves providing essential transportation services for staff members and official visitors, ensuring the safety and technical soundness of the vehicles assigned. The role requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of vehicle management and compliance with organizational regulations. The Driver will be responsible for facilitating transportation needs both within Kyiv and for trips outside the city, contributing to the operational efficiency of FAO's mission in Ukraine. This position is critical in supporting the organization's efforts to assist vulnerable communities in rural areas, particularly in the context of ongoing humanitarian challenges.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver will be tasked with providing official transportation services for FAO staff and visitors, including meeting them at airports and railway stations. The role includes maintaining comprehensive logs of trips, ensuring the vehicles are well-maintained and presentable, and adhering to all safety and compliance regulations. Responsibilities also encompass collecting and delivering correspondence and official documents, assisting with logistics for field missions, and performing minor vehicle repairs. The Driver will also be expected to adapt to a flexible schedule, which may include extended working hours, and to perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must have completed secondary education and possess a valid Ukrainian driver’s license (B, C1, or C category). A minimum of three years of work experience as a driver, preferably with a UN or NGO, is required. Fluency in Russian and Ukrainian is mandatory, with a working knowledge of English being advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a safe driving record and have knowledge of driving rules and regulations, as well as skills in minor vehicle repair.

Educational Background:
While secondary education is the minimum requirement, a university education is considered an asset for this position. Candidates must ensure that their educational qualifications are recognized by the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Experience:
The position requires at least three years of relevant work experience as a driver, ideally within a UN or NGO context. Experience in providing transportation services in challenging environments is highly valued, as is familiarity with the local conditions in Ukraine.

Languages:
Fluency in Russian and Ukrainian is mandatory, with a Level C proficiency or native speaker status preferred. A working knowledge of English at Level A/B is also required, with intermediate knowledge (Level B) being an advantage.
