Job Overview:
The ESA Graduate Trainee in Propulsion Test Facilities Project Support and European Space Transport HUB position is designed for recent graduates or those in their final year of study, focusing on the integration of propulsion test facilities and the European Space Transportation HUB. The role involves supporting the development of strategies for New Space propulsion tests and contributing to the operational efficiency of ESA's propulsion test facilities. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the ESA Graduate Trainee include:
  • Implementing actions derived from ESA's strategy regarding New Space Propulsion Tests.
  • Supporting the development of the European Space Transportation HUB in collaboration with ESA and CNES.
  • Learning about the functions of Propulsion Test Facilities and ESA's role in propulsion tests.
  • Evaluating the best approaches for Europe in collaboration with test bench operators and New Space primes.
  • Identifying short- and long-term actions related to test bench strategies, including asset management and technology development.
  • Managing the progress of action plans with various stakeholders in a project mode, including schedule, risks, costs, and reporting.
  • Developing models to enhance collaboration among European space transportation actors.
  • Identifying valuable services for space transportation companies to boost the European space economy.
  • Organizing workshops and conferences, drafting organizational documents, and coordinating events with CNES. 1
  • Bringing innovative ideas to the table to enhance the effectiveness of the HUB and its initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment. Previous experience in international teams is considered an asset. The ideal candidate should demonstrate motivation, a clear professional perspective, and defined career goals. Additionally, competencies in mechanics, fluid dynamics, electronics, and coding (particularly in Python) are highly appreciated. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to think creatively are essential for success in this role.

Educational Background:
Applicants should have recently completed or be in the final year of a master's degree in fields such as international cooperation, international communication, or interdisciplinary space studies.
