Job Overview:
The Chauffeur will operate under the direct supervision of the Chief of Transport, responsible for driving CRS vehicles for various missions and errands. The role includes ensuring the vehicles are in good working condition, managing fuel supplies for vehicles and generators, maintaining accurate logs, and ensuring all vehicle documentation is valid. The Chauffeur is expected to practice defensive driving and adhere to CRS driving procedures and local traffic laws. This position requires flexibility in working hours and the ability to handle multiple priorities, as well as a commitment to representing CRS positively through professional conduct on the road.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Chauffeur's specific duties include: driving CRS vehicles for office errands, transporting staff and visitors, conducting field missions, distributing office mail, and welcoming guests at the airport. The Chauffeur must maintain a valid driver's license and ensure compliance with CRS regulations regarding passenger transport. Daily vehicle checks are required, along with reporting any damages. The Chauffeur is responsible for the upkeep of tools and accessories related to the vehicles, ensuring cleanliness, and managing fuel supplies. Administrative tasks include assisting the Chief of Transport with collecting and recording vehicle logs, preparing technical reports after missions, and verifying the validity of insurance certificates and taxes. The role also involves maintaining a professional image of CRS through safe driving and courteous behavior towards other road users.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a state diploma or certificate in automotive mechanics and hold a valid driver's license for all vehicle categories. A thorough understanding of the local traffic laws is essential. Candidates should demonstrate flexibility in working hours and be available for additional duties as required. A minimum of 3 to 4 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably with an NGO, is required. Experience driving in challenging terrains within the country is essential, along with the ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong communication skills in French (both oral and written) and Tshiluba are mandatory. Proficiency in computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, and Word, is an advantage.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a state diploma or a certificate in automotive mechanics. This educational foundation is crucial for understanding vehicle maintenance and repair, which are integral parts of the Chauffeur's responsibilities.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have at least 3 to 4 years of professional experience in a similar role. Experience working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is preferred, particularly in driving under challenging conditions and navigating difficult roads within the country. The ability to adapt to various driving situations and manage the demands of the role is essential.

Languages:
Fluency in French, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, proficiency in Tshiluba is required, as it facilitates communication with local communities and stakeholders. Knowledge of other languages may be considered an asset but is not mandatory.
