Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Registration Assistant include conducting registration interviews in accordance with local SOPs and registration standards, responding to queries from asylum seekers and refugees about UNHCR's registration procedures, and maintaining accurate and up-to-date records related to individual registration cases. The Registration Assistant is responsible for identifying persons with specific needs and ensuring timely referrals to protection follow-up as required. They will collaborate with protection staff and/or partners in delivering assistance and programming, including the provision of identity and entitlement documentation. The role also involves acting as an interpreter and translator when needed, referring cases to other units within the office and to implementing partners as necessary, and supporting the identification and management of risks while seeking opportunities that impact objectives in their area of responsibility. The Registration Assistant is expected to raise any risks, issues, and concerns to a supervisor or relevant functional colleagues and perform other related duties as required.
Required Qualifications: The minimum qualifications for the Registration Assistant position include a High School Diploma with at least one year of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent higher education. Essential functional skills include IT-computer literacy, which is crucial for maintaining records and managing data effectively.
