Job Overview:
The internship-position" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">internship position at UNDP is designed to provide support in event management, documentation, and logistics related to youth empowerment initiatives. The intern will play a crucial role in preparing and managing event-related documentation, coordinating logistics for participants and speakers, and ensuring smooth execution of events aimed at empowering youth and promoting sustainable development. The intern will be expected to engage with various stakeholders, including government partners, civil society, and private sector representatives, to facilitate the successful delivery of events that align with UNDP's mission and objectives. This role offers an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in international development, particularly in areas related to youth, entrepreneurship, and climate action.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will assist in various duties and responsibilities, including:
  • Event Management Documentation and Design (40%): Preparing and managing event-related documentation, including logistics notes, participant lists, invitations, and briefing materials; designing event programs and agendas; proposing innovative approaches to enhance participant engagement; documenting events and finalizing reports.
  • Event Logistics and Operations Management (50%): Coordinating logistics for participants, speakers, and facilitators; planning and finalizing logistical arrangements; supporting venue layout and promotional materials; briefing volunteers; serving as a focal point for coordination among teams and partners.
  • Other (10%): Supporting ad hoc activities as needed; coordinating with UNDP teams and partners to ensure alignment on event objectives and delivery arrangements.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet one of the following educational requirements: currently in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree; currently enrolled in a Master’s degree; or have graduated no longer than one year from a bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent studies. The field of study should be in business administration, entrepreneurship, innovation studies, sustainable development, economics, international relations, public policy, or equivalent. Additionally, candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to communicate effectively in diverse environments.

Educational Background:
Candidates are required to have educational qualifications that include being in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree, currently enrolled in a Master’s degree, or having graduated within the last year from a relevant field of study. Acceptable fields include business administration, entrepreneurship, innovation studies, sustainable development, economics, international relations, public policy, or equivalent studies. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of development work and the specific challenges faced by youth in achieving sustainable development goals.

Experience:
The internship position is designed for candidates who may not have extensive professional experience but are eager to learn and contribute to international development efforts. Candidates should demonstrate a strong interest in working within an international organization and have some familiarity with event management, youth empowerment, or related fields. Previous internships or volunteer experiences in similar areas will be considered an advantage, but are not mandatory.

Languages:
A strong command of English, both written and oral, is required for this position. Knowledge of other UN languages is considered an advantage, as it can enhance communication with diverse stakeholders and contribute to the effectiveness of the intern's role within the organization.

Additional Notes:
The internship is unpaid, but UNDP will provide a monthly stipend of THB 8,302.50 in accordance with its internship policy. Interns are responsible for their own expenses related to travel, accommodation, and health insurance. They must also obtain necessary visas and are expected to work full-time, although flexibility is allowed for educational commitments. Interns are not eligible for employment with UNDP during the internship period and must provide proof of enrollment in a health insurance plan. The organization emphasizes a zero-tolerance policy towards sexual exploitation and misconduct, ensuring a safe and respectful environment for all participants.
