Job Overview:
The Website Content Production Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the Website Content Production activities managed by the OCU. This position involves maintaining and updating content on high-profile IOM websites or digital platforms, ensuring that all content adheres to established guidelines. The successful candidate will execute routine Quality Assurance (QA) checks, manage content calendars, and implement advanced Content Management System (CMS) solutions. The role requires technical support for the production team, troubleshooting routine issues, and providing guidance to Junior Website Assistants. The assistant will also monitor adherence to IOM's internal web standards and publish multimedia content while ensuring accessibility and compliance with technical standards. This position is vital for maintaining IOM's online presence and ensuring effective communication of its mission and activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update content on designated IOM websites or digital platforms in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Execute routine Quality Assurance (QA) checks, documenting issues and recommending corrections.
  • Manage the content calendars for the OCU web production team, ensuring compliance with publication deadlines.
  • Implement advanced CMS solutions, including proper tagging for search, SEO, and analytics.
  • Provide technical support to the production team and troubleshoot routine CMS and content delivery issues.
  • Offer peer-level support and technical guidance to Junior Website Assistants.
  • Monitor adherence to IOM's internal web standards, branding guidelines, and digital policies.
  • Publish and optimize multimedia content, ensuring accessibility across devices.
  • Support tasks related to the IOM Media Library for efficient asset management. 1
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the National Web Production Officer.

Required Qualifications:
  • University degree in Computer Science, Communication, or a related field from an accredited institution with four years of relevant professional experience; or a completed High School Degree with six years of relevant professional experience.
  • Relevant work experience in graphics and web design, ideally with an international organization.
  • Experience in using an enterprise intranet and web/intranet analytics.
  • Knowledge and experience in using a content management system and community-building applications.
  • Ability to create original and engaging graphic designs.
  • Excellent knowledge of HTML, CSS, and W3C standards.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Dreamweaver.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Computer Science, Communication, or a related field from an accredited academic institution. Alternatively, a completed High School Degree from an accredited institution is acceptable if accompanied by six years of relevant professional experience. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

Experience:
The position requires relevant work experience in graphics and web design, ideally within an international organization or company. Candidates should have experience using an enterprise intranet and web/intranet analytics, as well as knowledge of content management systems and community-building applications. The role demands a solid understanding of web standards and best practices in web design and content management.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Knowledge of additional languages is considered an asset and may enhance a candidate's application, particularly in a multicultural environment like IOM.
