Job Overview: The EpiC Associate Director, Integrated Health, is a leadership position that requires a strong focus on integrated health interventions, particularly in the context of infectious diseases such as HIV and malaria. The role involves managing staff and project interventions, ensuring alignment with EpiC frameworks and relevant technical standards. The Associate Director will work closely with the Country Representative and various teams to ensure adherence to US Government health priorities, overseeing the successful delivery of technical aspects and reporting throughout the project lifecycle. This position is critical in ensuring that all technical deliverables are met on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, while also engaging with partners to implement effective health interventions.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties of the EpiC Associate Director include serving as the integrated health lead and primary contact for the project, providing technical direction for country-specific workplans and budgets, ensuring the development and submission of high-quality technical deliverables, and responding to client inquiries on technical matters. The Associate Director will also oversee the design of technical activities to support monitoring and evaluation, assess subcontractor performance, and collaborate with the monitoring and evaluation team to promote integrated health successes. Additionally, the role involves supporting the professional development of direct reports and performing other assigned duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess comprehensive knowledge of integrated health across various infectious diseases, a high level of understanding of project management and technical strategies, and excellent communication and organizational skills. The ability to influence and motivate others, exercise judgment in decision-making, and ensure that budgets and performance requirements are met is essential. Strong leadership skills and critical thinking abilities are also required, along with proficiency in English and additional language skills in French, Spanish, or Russian being a bonus.
Educational Background: A Master’s Degree or its international equivalent in Medicine, Public Health, or a related field is required for this position. A Project Management (PM) Certification is preferred, indicating a strong foundation in project management principles and practices.
Experience: The position typically requires a minimum of 12 years of relevant technical or project management experience, including at least 8 years in a leadership role with strong business acumen. Prior experience in a non-governmental organization (NGO) is preferred, as is experience implementing US Government-funded contracts, which is strongly preferred for this role.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, with excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficiency in additional languages such as French, Spanish, or Russian is considered advantageous and may enhance a candidate's profile.
Additional Notes: This position is based in an office environment in Myanmar, with expectations for travel within the country and potentially to regional countries as per the workplan. The role involves typical physical demands associated with office work, including the ability to sit and stand for extended periods and to perform repetitive tasks on a computer.
