Job Overview: The AI-Enabled Cybersecurity Intern position is designed for graduate students currently enrolled in a master's degree program in information technology or a related field. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the intersection of cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and organizational change. The intern will support the design and development of an internal Information Security Policy Chatbot, which will serve as a trusted source for IMF staff to obtain clear and consistent guidance on information security policies. The chatbot will also assist in managing changes related to cybersecurity initiatives, providing practical support for adapting daily work practices to new security requirements. The intern will collaborate closely with the Information Security Awareness team to translate formal policy guidance into a user-friendly conversational experience, utilizing the Fund's internal AI tools and platforms. This role is pivotal in contributing to a high-visibility, impact-driven initiative that enhances the IMF's cybersecurity posture and promotes a culture of security awareness across the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will be responsible for several key duties, including:
Chatbot Development: Building, configuring, and refining a chatbot using Microsoft Copilot Studio and other internal AI tools. Developing user-centric conversational flows to effectively handle inquiries related to information security policies, standards, and procedures, including FAQs, decision trees, and troubleshooting guides.
Knowledge Base Engineering: Preparing, cleaning, and structuring policy documents for AI ingestion, including tagging, metadata creation, and content organization. Mapping real-world employee scenarios to relevant policies to ensure accurate responses.
AI Model Testing, Evaluation, and Enhancement: Conducting systematic testing of chatbot responses for correctness and clarity, collaborating with the Information Security Team for red team testing to identify unsafe outputs.
User Experience and Testing: Conducting scenario-based testing to validate chatbot accuracy and policy alignment, creating documentation for the chatbot launch, and gathering user feedback.
Project Support and Cross Team Collaboration: Assisting the Information Security Awareness team with research and best practices, coordinating inputs from stakeholders to ensure the chatbot reflects the latest policy updates, and supporting integration with other internal IMF platforms.
Required Qualifications: To qualify for the AI-Enabled Cybersecurity Intern position, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Enrollment in a Master’s degree program in a relevant field such as information technology, data science, or business administration.
Student status at the time of the internship, with the expectation of returning to school upon completion of the internship.
Good academic standing with a strong academic record.
Excellent command of English, both written and oral.
Demonstrated interest and aptitude for working in a multicultural environment.
Educational Background: Candidates must be currently enrolled in a Master’s degree program in a relevant field, such as information technology, computer science, information systems management, data science, or business administration. This educational background is essential to ensure that interns possess the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to contribute effectively to the IT Department's initiatives.
Experience: While specific prior experience may not be mandatory, familiarity with coursework in IT fundamentals, cloud security, cryptography, network security, and application security is highly desirable.
