Job Overview: The position of IT Developer for the E-Systems on elections is a critical role within the UNDP's EDMITE III Project, which aims to strengthen democratic resilience in Moldova. The selected individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining electronic systems that facilitate the electoral process, ensuring that these systems are efficient, secure, and user-friendly. The IT Developer will work closely with various stakeholders, including government officials, electoral bodies, and civil society organizations, to understand their needs and translate them into technical solutions. This role requires a strong understanding of software development, database management, and system integration, as well as the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. The IT Developer will also be expected to provide technical support and training to users of the systems, ensuring that they are able to effectively utilize the tools provided to them.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and implement software solutions for the E-Systems on elections, ensuring they meet the requirements of stakeholders.
Collaborate with project teams to gather and analyze user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
Conduct testing and debugging of applications to ensure functionality and performance standards are met.
Maintain and update existing systems, ensuring they remain secure and efficient.
Provide technical support and training to users, helping them to effectively utilize the systems.
Document all development processes, system configurations, and user manuals for future reference.
Stay updated on the latest technologies and best practices in software development and apply them to improve the systems.
Participate in project meetings and contribute to the overall success of the EDMITE III Project.
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in software development is required. Experience working on projects related to electoral processes or governance is an advantage. Familiarity with international development organizations and their operational procedures is also beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Romanian and/or Russian is considered an asset, as it will facilitate communication with local stakeholders and users of the systems.
Additional Notes: This position is offered as an individual contractor role under the procurement process of UNDP. The contract duration and specific terms will be discussed upon selection.
