This role is designed to provide interns with a formative and immersive experience, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of the United Nations system and its collaborative work with various agencies and stakeholders. Interns will engage in strategic multimedia and social media communications, contributing to the development and dissemination of key messages through creative multimedia materials. The internship aims to enhance the intern's analytical, organizational, and communication skills while providing practical experience in the UN's integrated programming and partnership-building approaches. The duration of the internship is expected to last for a maximum of six months, depending on the needs of the office, and candidates may be selected throughout the posting period on an 'as-needed' basis.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Interns will be responsible for a variety of tasks that support the communications efforts of the RCO. These include designing creative ideas to effectively communicate key topics through multimedia materials, developing script proposals and production plans for multimedia content, and producing and post-producing multimedia materials for various channels. Additionally, interns will support the identification of strategies to increase engagement across social media platforms, schedule social media posts aligned with key topics, and collect metrics to evaluate the performance of social media campaigns. Through these responsibilities, interns will gain hands-on experience in multimedia production and social media management, while also contributing to the overall communication strategy of the UN in El Salvador.

Required Qualifications:
To qualify for this internship, candidates must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, specifically in their final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent) or pursuing a Master’s degree. While professional work experience is not required, applicants should have a field of study closely related to the internship they are applying for. Candidates must demonstrate a good command of standard software applications, particularly MS Excel and PowerPoint, and possess the ability to draft basic concept notes and contribute to documentation and knowledge products. Strong organizational and analytical skills, along with attention to detail, are essential for success in this role.

Educational Background:
Candidates must be enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program, ideally in their final year of study. This educational background should be closely related to the type of internship being applied for, ensuring that the intern has the necessary theoretical knowledge to support their practical work within the UN.
