Job Overview:
The Project Manager will lead the Roots to Resilience project, which is set to commence in 2026 and is funded by DGBP. This project will focus on commercial climate-smart agriculture and hydroponics to enhance security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">food security among communities in Kakuma. The PM will oversee the day-to-day management of the project, providing technical support and ensuring effective collaboration with strategic commercial partners, Hydroponics Africa Limited and Chucaotech Technology. The role requires strong leadership skills, critical thinking, and a commercial mindset to deliver successful project outcomes. The PM will also be responsible for stakeholder management, ensuring that the expectations and relationships between all project partners, including NGOs and private companies, are effectively managed.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will be responsible for various aspects of project management, including development, monitoring, and evaluation. Key responsibilities include ensuring project implementation aligns with beneficiary needs and donor compliance, working closely with consortium members and local government, and establishing comprehensive monitoring and evaluation systems. The PM will ensure that project activities are delivered on time and within budget, maintain regular updates of work plans, and provide on-site support through frequent visits to project sites. Additionally, the PM will identify training needs for the team, build internal capacity, and ensure minimum standards for project management and accountability are met. Coordination with consortium members, external stakeholders, and maintaining effective communication mechanisms are also critical duties. The PM will oversee budget management, ensuring adherence to financial procedures, and will lead and motivate project staff, ensuring clear objectives and regular performance reviews.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess at least 5 years of experience in multi-donor-funded or multi-stakeholder projects, with a minimum of 3 years in managing environment or agriculture projects. A deep understanding of private sector enterprises and experience in implementing livelihoods or protection interventions within commercial companies is essential. Candidates should have a basic understanding of IT and ERP tools used in commercial enterprises and NGOs, along with demonstrated project management skills and experience in capacity-building staff. Excellent analytical, report-writing, planning, and organizational skills are required, along with knowledge of current trends in refugee affairs.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree in international development, entrepreneurship, business administration, environmental sciences, or other relevant fields is required. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree with relevant work experience may be considered.

Experience:
The position requires at least 5 years of experience in relevant fields, with a focus on managing projects related to environment or agriculture. Candidates should have experience working with private sector enterprises and a solid understanding of project cycle management, as well as experience in capacity-building and facilitating trainings.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, and knowledge of additional languages relevant to the project area may be considered an asset.

Additional Notes:
The position is a fixed-term contract ending in December 2026, with the possibility of extension. The salary and conditions are in accordance with DRC’s Terms of Employment.
