Job Overview:
The Senior Government Liaison Associate plays a crucial role within the Government Liaison Unit, primarily responsible for facilitating communication and coordination between UNHCR and government authorities. Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Government Liaison Associate include assisting the supervisor in establishing and maintaining close working relationships with officials in various ministries, particularly the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The incumbent will monitor evolving issues concerning asylum seekers, stateless persons, and refugees within the Area of Responsibility (AoR). They will analyze news and political activities, reporting on local and international developments that may impact the office's relationship with the government. The role also involves providing support to senior management in navigating the political context and challenges related to humanitarian and development processes. The Senior Government Liaison Associate will accompany senior officials on missions and meetings, assist in preparing for visits, draft correspondence and reports, manage budgets when requested, and coordinate with different units to ensure that information presented to government authorities is verified and endorsed. Additionally, the incumbent will support the identification and management of risks and seek opportunities that impact objectives in their area of responsibility.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Senior Government Liaison Associate position must possess a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma, or 2 years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Essential qualifications include a solid understanding of humanitarian, protection, and durable solutions frameworks, as well as experience in supporting reintegration, return, and stabilization processes. Strong drafting and communication skills are required, including the ability to prepare official correspondence, briefing notes, and meeting records. Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a High School Diploma for candidates with 4 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree or higher for those with 2 years of relevant experience.
