Job Overview: The Associate Audit Officer position is situated within the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) at the Asian Development Bank. This role is crucial for supporting the automation of internal audit activities and processes, enhancing efficiency within the organization. The Associate Audit Officer will be responsible for performing various administrative functions related to OAG systems, including TeamMate+ and the Management Action Plan dashboard. The position requires effective communication and reporting of internal audit results to management and the board, as well as the implementation and monitoring of strategic action plans. The role also involves providing administrative support in budget processes, personnel management, contract management, and knowledge management, ensuring the timely and efficient performance of OAG functions. The Associate Audit Officer will play a key role in promoting innovation through automation and will be involved in the planning and coordination of various OAG activities, including knowledge exchange and quality assessments.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate Audit Officer include:
Providing administrative support in the budget process, personnel management, contract management, and office administration for OAG senior staff.
Promoting innovation through the automation of internal audit management activities and processes.
Performing administrative functions for OAG systems such as TeamMate+, Management Action Plan dashboards, and project milestones dashboards.
Developing automated dashboards for reporting to Management, the Audit and Risk Committee (ARC), and the Board, standardizing datasets and visuals for reports.
Communicating and reporting the results of internal audit activities and key performance indicators to Management and the Board.
Ensuring all correspondence and documents issued by OAG adhere to ADB standards and templates.
Supporting the planning of OAG's strategic planning exercises and coordinating the implementation of the 3-year OAG strategy and action plans.
Maintaining OAG's audit manual and methodology notes to ensure consistency in audit approaches and procedures.
Assisting in the preparation for internal and external quality assessments. 1
Planning and coordinating OAG external activities such as knowledge exchange and meetings. 1
Managing the content of the OAG hubsite and addressing emerging requirements. 1
Performing other tasks as assigned in the workplan.
Required Qualifications: The qualifications required for the Associate Audit Officer position include:
A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related fields, with a preference for candidates with advanced training.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in a similar role.
Proficiency in ADB standard software programs and information technologies, including TeamMate audit management software.
Strong planning, analytical, and digital skills, with experience in automation or data analytics.
Good coordination and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and national backgrounds.
A solid understanding of the role and function of the division/office/department, along with knowledge of relevant procedures, formats, and standards.
Experience exercising judgment on confidential matters and those requiring urgent attention, especially in the absence of a supervisor.
Experience liaising and working effectively with staff within the work location and collaboratively with teams as a constructive team member.
Written and verbal proficiency in English is mandatory.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, or related fields. Advanced training in these areas is preferred, indicating a higher level of expertise and knowledge relevant to the responsibilities of the Associate Audit Officer role.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of relevant professional experience. Candidates should have a working knowledge of the assigned area and demonstrate proficiency in ADB standard software programs and information technologies, including TeamMate audit management software. Experience in automation or data analytics is also essential, along with a proven track record of effective coordination and interpersonal skills.
Languages: Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, both written and verbal. While English is the primary language required, knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in a multicultural environment such as ADB.
Additional Notes: This appointment is open to both internal and external applicants and is a fixed-term appointment for an initial period of 3 years. At the end of this period, the appointment may be extended for up to 2 additional years, converted to a regular appointment, or ended based on ADB's needs and the employee's performance.
