Job Overview:
Under the supervision of the Deputy Country Director - Programs, the mission of this position is to define strategies and coordinate Action contre la Faim's interventions in the field of health and nutrition. The role involves designing, capitalizing on, and evaluating interventions, as well as monitoring and coordinating programs in the areas of nutrition and health. The individual will manage the Nutrition and Health team in the capital and serve as the functional manager for the Nutrition and Health Program Managers at the bases. Additionally, the position requires developing and animating programs and advocacy in partnership with national and local stakeholders, and representing Action contre la Faim while advocating for its positions in the health and nutrition sectors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the position include:
  • Designing, capitalizing on, and evaluating health and nutrition interventions.
  • Monitoring and coordinating nutrition and health programs to ensure effective implementation.
  • Managing the Nutrition and Health team in the capital, providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Acting as the functional manager for the Nutrition and Health Program Managers at various bases, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Developing and animating programs and advocacy efforts in collaboration with national and local actors.
  • Representing Action contre la Faim in relevant forums and discussions, advocating for the organization's positions in health and nutrition.
  • Ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures in all program activities.
  • Engaging in capacity building and training initiatives for local partners and staff.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must hold a higher education degree in health (Medicine) and possess relevant experience in a similar position within an international context. Ideally, candidates should have prior experience with Action contre la Faim. Strong coaching and mentoring skills are essential, as well as the ability to work effectively in an international environment. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory.

Educational Background:
A higher education degree in health, specifically in Medicine, is required for this position. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of health and nutrition interventions and for effectively managing related programs.

Experience:
Candidates should have substantial experience in a similar role, particularly in an international context. This experience should include managing health and nutrition programs, as well as working with diverse teams and stakeholders. Previous experience with Action contre la Faim is highly desirable, as it demonstrates familiarity with the organization's mission and operational framework.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory for this position, both in oral and written communication. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with local stakeholders and partners.

  • The gross monthly salary ranges from 2,597 to 2,968 euros, depending on experience, and includes a 13th-month payment. Non-French citizens will receive a retirement insurance reimbursement of 16% of their gross monthly salary. There is a 6% increase in the base salary every 12 months of continuous contract. Monthly per diem and living expenses amount to 653 euros net, paid on the ground, along with a monthly contextual allowance of 150 euros. An annual child allowance of 1,500 euros per child is provided, with a maximum of 6,000 euros per year. Transportation and accommodation costs are covered, and medical coverage includes 100% reimbursement of health insurance contributions and medical expenses, including for dependents if the position is family-based. Salary maintenance provisions are in place for illness, maternity, and paternity. Employees are entitled to 25 days of annual leave and 20 rest and recuperation days per year, with travel expenses covered for breaks. Additionally, employees have unlimited and free access to the Talentsoft e-learning platform.
