Job Overview:
The Partnership, Grant and communication Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and developing three strategic components of DRC's mission in Burkina Faso: grants, partnership, and communication management. Reporting to the Head of Programs, the manager will coordinate with various departments within DRC to ensure effective communication and collaboration. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying funding opportunities, managing donor relationships, and developing a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with DRC's mission and values. The manager will also be responsible for leading a team, ensuring that all activities are in line with organizational goals and that the team is supported in their professional development.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Fundraising and Grant Management: Identify and secure funding opportunities from international donors and private sector partners. Oversee the drafting and submission of high-quality grant proposals, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and donor policies. Manage donor relationships, ensuring timely submission of narrative and financial reports. Support project managers in monitoring partner contracts to ensure compliance with internal and donor requirements. Develop a diversified funding pipeline to support long-term projects.
  • Strategic Partnership Development: Collaborate with team members to ensure ownership and monitoring of the organization’s partnership and civil society strategy. Contribute to project development by incorporating partnership approaches and driving program initiatives based on stakeholder identification. Conduct regular monitoring visits to partners’ activities and participate in project follow-up meetings. Serve as the organization’s external representative in coordination bodies focused on localization and partnership themes.
  • Communication Strategy and Visibility: Oversee the development of the organization’s communication strategy and standards in Burkina Faso. Ensure the existence of tools for monitoring and implementing contractual communication activities. Serve as the primary contact for internal and external communication issues.
  • Team Management: Lead the recruitment of staff under direct supervision and manage daily staff operations. Foster positive communication among staff and organize capacity-building initiatives.
  • Strategic Planning and Innovation: Contribute to the organization’s strategic planning by aligning fundraising, partnership, and communication efforts with long-term goals.

Required Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the humanitarian or development sector, with at least 5 years in partnerships or grant management and 3 years in team management. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is essential, along with knowledge of communication requirements in the humanitarian environment. Experience working with national partners, local authorities, and UN organizations is also required. Previous experience with DRC or in West Africa is considered an asset.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess a Master's level degree (Bac +5) in political science, law, management, international development, or a related field.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 7 years of experience in the humanitarian or development sector, with specific emphasis on partnerships and grant management. Candidates should also have at least 3 years of experience in managing teams effectively.

Languages:
Fluency in French and English is mandatory for this position, as both languages are essential for communication with stakeholders and partners.

The contract length is for one year, contingent upon funding availability. The position is classified under Management Band F-
  • The work location is based in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso, with frequent field trips to other operational areas such as Kaya, Dori, Ouahigouya, and Dédougou. The expected start date for this position is March 202
