Job Overview:
The position of Clerical Support for Migration Response is crucial in providing day-to-day clerical assistance in the implementation of project activities aimed at addressing the migration response in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The successful candidate will work under the overall guidance of the Humanitarian Assistance Coordinator and the direct supervision of the Area (CCCM) Coordinator. The role involves supporting the protection of vulnerable migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees, ensuring compliance with IOM and donor financial regulations. The candidate will engage in various clerical duties, including vulnerability screening, information sharing, and liaising with field actors to ensure comprehensive humanitarian assistance is provided. This position is integral to the IOM's mission of safeguarding the rights and well-being of migrants and ensuring that no one is left behind in the humanitarian response.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Clerical Support position include performing clerical tasks to support the protection of vulnerable categories of migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees. This involves assisting in the referral process to specialized institutions, sharing information, and distributing non-food and food items. The candidate will also support vulnerability screening and the provision of tailored humanitarian assistance. Daily communication with officials from the Service for Foreigners’ Affairs is expected, along with providing first psychological aid when necessary. The role requires sharing relevant information about the capacities and services of temporary reception facilities and liaising with other field actors to ensure comprehensive support. Compliance with UNDSS and OSS regulations related to fieldwork is mandatory, and the candidate may be assigned additional tasks by the supervisor. All responsibilities must be carried out in strict adherence to IOM policies and guidelines, particularly those concerning confidentiality and data protection.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess either a degree in related fields such as social studies, psychology, political science, international relations, or development studies with at least one year of professional experience, or a completed high school degree from an accredited institution with three years of relevant professional experience. Accredited universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database. The role requires a strong understanding of social work and assistance to vulnerable populations, as well as experience in case management scenarios. Candidates should also have experience working with foreign nationals, irregular migrants, trafficked persons, and children, demonstrating proficiency in computer applications and good communication skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes studies in fields related to social work, psychology, political science, international relations, or development studies. A completed high school degree from an accredited academic institution is also acceptable, provided the candidate has the requisite professional experience. The educational qualifications must be from institutions recognized by the UNESCO World Higher Education Database, ensuring that candidates have a solid foundation in relevant disciplines that will support their work in migration response.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of one year of professional experience in social work or assistance to vulnerable populations, or three years of relevant experience if they hold a high school diploma. Experience in case management scenarios, working with foreign nationals, irregular migrants, trafficked persons, and children is essential. Additionally, candidates should have experience in counseling, networking, and ensuring access to services. Proficiency in computer applications is necessary, along with good written and spoken communication skills. The ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment and as part of a team is also crucial for this role.

Languages:
Fluency in English, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Additionally, proficiency in one of the three official languages spoken in Bosnia and Herzegovina is required. Desirable skills include working knowledge of Arabic, Farsi, Urdu, Pashtu, and other languages spoken by migrants. The selection process will specifically evaluate the proficiency of required languages, which may include written and/or oral assessments to ensure candidates meet the communication needs of the role.

The position is subject to local recruitment, meaning only candidates holding a valid residence and work permit for Bosnia and Herzegovina will be considered.
