Job Overview: The National Consultant – Technical Project Implementation Expert position is designed for an individual contractor who will be responsible for providing technical expertise in the implementation of specific projects under the UNDP framework in Bangladesh. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the National Consultant include but are not limited to:
Collaborating with project teams to develop detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
Providing technical guidance and support to project staff and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Conducting assessments and evaluations to identify project needs and areas for improvement.
Facilitating training sessions and workshops for stakeholders to enhance their capacity in project implementation.
Monitoring project progress and preparing regular reports on project status, challenges, and achievements.
Ensuring compliance with UNDP policies and procedures, as well as national regulations.
Engaging with local communities to gather feedback and ensure their needs are addressed in project activities.
Identifying and mitigating risks associated with project implementation.
Contributing to the development of project documentation, including proposals, reports, and case studies.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong set of qualifications, including:
Proven experience in project management, particularly in the context of development projects.
Strong technical expertise in relevant fields related to the specific projects being implemented.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on results-oriented approaches.
Familiarity with UNDP policies and procedures is an advantage.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively under tight deadlines.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes:
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as international development, project management, public administration, or a related discipline.
A master’s degree is preferred and may be considered an asset.
Additional certifications in project management or related areas will be advantageous.
Experience: The position requires a significant level of experience, specifically:
At least 5 years of professional experience in project management or implementation, preferably in the development sector.
Demonstrated experience working with international organizations, government agencies, or NGOs.
Experience in managing projects in Bangladesh or similar contexts is highly desirable.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Bengali or other local languages is considered an asset and may enhance communication with local stakeholders.
Additional Notes: This position is for a contract duration of 90 working days over a period of six months.
