Job Overview:
The UN Volunteer position in Learning-to-Earning Data and Knowledge Management is designed to support UNICEF's Youth and Adolescent Development programme. This role is crucial for enhancing the employability and entrepreneurship of vulnerable youth in Lebanon. The volunteer will assist in managing data systems, ensuring timely reporting, and developing analytical tools that contribute to effective decision-making and accountability. The position requires collaboration with various partners and stakeholders to ensure the quality and accuracy of data, which is essential for monitoring and evaluating the programme's impact. The volunteer will also play a key role in creating knowledge products that capture lessons learned and best practices, thereby contributing to the overall success of the Learning-to-Earning initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The UN Volunteer will be responsible for several key tasks:
  • Partner Reporting Follow-up and Data Validation: This includes ensuring that implementing partners submit periodic reports and datasets on time, reviewing and validating the data for accuracy and compliance, and providing support to partners in addressing any data quality issues.
  • Data Systems, Extraction, and Visualization: The volunteer will assist in designing and maintaining structured data systems, developing dashboards and visual summaries to track key indicators and progress, and ensuring that data is accessible for planning and reporting purposes.
  • Knowledge Management and Evidence Products: The role involves designing knowledge management products such as briefs and presentations, organizing programme documentation, and synthesizing data into actionable insights for internal learning processes.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. Proficiency in data management and reporting tools is essential, along with experience in monitoring and evaluation practices. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a commitment to UNICEF's mission and values, including respect for diversity and a focus on results. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are also required to effectively convey complex information to various audiences.

Educational Background:
A bachelor's degree in social sciences, statistics, data management, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in relevant areas will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of data analysis and reporting methodologies, as well as familiarity with UNICEF's work and the context of youth development in Lebanon.

Experience:
The position requires at least 1-2 years of relevant experience in data management, monitoring and evaluation, or a related field. Experience working with international organizations or NGOs, particularly in the context of youth and adolescent development, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the Lebanese socio-economic landscape and challenges faced by vulnerable youth will be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, while proficiency in Arabic is highly desirable. Knowledge of French or other languages may be considered an asset, particularly in enhancing communication with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
This is a national UN Volunteer assignment based in Beirut, Lebanon. The volunteer will be responsible for arranging their own housing and living essentials. The position offers a monthly Volunteer Living Allowance (VLA) of USD 1,606.56, along with annual and learning leaves, medical and life insurance, and free access to various learning platforms. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adapt to the local culture and traditions. Additionally, the volunteer must confirm their vaccination status against COVID-19 prior to appointment, although this requirement does not apply to those working remotely.
