Job Overview: The Safety Training Coordinator will join the Safety Training service within CERN's Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Department. This role is crucial for planning, coordinating, and supporting the delivery of safety training activities. The coordinator will be responsible for the operational management of training sessions, ensuring that all courses, facilities, and equipment are organized efficiently and run smoothly. The position requires a proactive approach to managing training schedules and maintaining the training catalogue, as well as contributing to the continuous improvement of training programs based on feedback. The coordinator will work closely with various stakeholders, including trainees, managers, internal and external trainers, and support services, to ensure high-quality service delivery in the training domain.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Safety Training Coordinator will have a range of responsibilities, including: planning, scheduling, and managing training sessions using CERN's Learning Management System (LMS); organizing training sessions by coordinating all administrative, operational, and logistical aspects; maintaining the training catalogue and contributing to the setup of training programs; ensuring the collection and analysis of feedback to support continuous improvement; coordinating with stakeholders such as trainees, managers, internal and external trainers, and Safety Officers; overseeing and supporting service providers to ensure quality and consistency in service delivery; and actively participating in the development of training materials and resources as needed.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate proficiency with computing tools, particularly the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, MS Forms). Familiarity with Learning Management platforms and digital learning tools is considered an advantage. Additionally, candidates should have experience in planning and scheduling training courses, events, or similar activities, as well as experience coordinating suppliers, contractors, or service providers. A strong interest in the learning and development field, as well as health, safety, and environment topics, is essential. Experience in an international environment is also advantageous, highlighting the need for adaptability and cultural awareness in a diverse workplace.
Educational Background: Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in HR, Business Administration, Education, or a related field. It is important to note that applicants without a university degree are not eligible for this position, nor are those who hold a PhD. The educational background should align with the responsibilities of the role, emphasizing the importance of formal training in relevant areas.
Experience: Candidates should have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in a relevant field such as HR, Business Administration, or Education. This experience should ideally include roles that involved planning, scheduling, and coordinating training or educational activities, as well as working with diverse stakeholders in an international context.
Languages: Proficiency in both spoken and written English and French is mandatory for this position. This bilingual requirement is essential for effective communication with a diverse range of stakeholders at CERN. Additional language skills may be considered an asset but are not mandatory.
Additional Notes: The position is a full-time role with a contract duration of 24 months, with the possibility of extension up to a maximum of 36 months.
