Job Overview: The Associate position is integral to the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the Bank's platforms and software solutions. This role is crucial within the squad, as the Associate will take the lead in designing, developing, and optimizing EBRD's infrastructure and software solutions within their specific value stream. The Associate is expected to provide guidance to individual contributors and collaborate closely with multi-functional teams and business product owners to deliver high-quality, product-aligned services that meet user needs. The role may also involve leading small projects, and proficiency in software design, CI/CD pipeline implementation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) technologies is essential. The Associate will be responsible for fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous learning within the team, while also ensuring that engineering quality is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate's duties include bringing in-depth knowledge and experience to enable team success, mentoring less experienced engineers, and fostering a culture of technical excellence. They will work with colleagues to understand business needs, design optimal engineering architectures, and ensure quality throughout the engineering lifecycle. The Associate will demonstrate openness in sharing ideas and questions, adopt Agile Ways of Working, and help build high-performing teams focused on delivering continuous value. They will manage time and effort tracking, ensure quality assurance is embedded in their work, and promote alignment with EBRD Cyber and IT security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security-policies" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Security policies. Additionally, the Associate will design, develop, and support customizations within the QRE data suite, collaborate with product owners, and ensure data integrity through regular audit checks.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a degree or equivalent professional experience, with a proficient understanding of treasury and banking products, as well as market and credit risk measurement techniques. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl, Shell, and Python is required, along with experience in ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter. Candidates should have experience with Oracle, PL/SQL, and SQL server, as well as knowledge of NoSQL databases. Familiarity with source control management tools like SVN and Bitbucket is essential, along with experience in managing test environments and IT application support.
Educational Background: A degree in a relevant field is required, or equivalent professional experience that demonstrates the necessary skills and knowledge for the role. Candidates should have a strong foundation in technology and engineering principles, particularly as they relate to software development and IT infrastructure.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have a solid level of experience in software design and development, particularly in the context of financial services. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, and Agile methodologies is highly desirable. Candidates should also have a background in managing and supporting IT applications, as well as experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication within the organization. Additional languages may be beneficial, particularly those relevant to the regions in which the EBRD operates, but are not strictly required.
Additional Notes: This is a fixed-term contract position with a duration of 2 years. The role is based in London, and employees are expected to work in the office 50% of the time.
