Job Overview:
The position of Asistente de Protección involves supporting the implementation of a portfolio of projects in accordance with an established action plan. The role requires the preparation and development of progress reports and other documentation as required by the Protection Coordination. The assistant will ensure proper filing of documents and promote ideas to strengthen the functions of their role. Duties and Responsibilities:
The specific duties include supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of protection activities in line with protection principles and humanitarian principles. The assistant will disseminate information about protection services to the participating population and participate in conducting needs assessments and impact evaluations of protection activities in prioritized locations. They will support capacity-building activities for communities, government authorities, and other relevant actors on protection-related topics and the projects implemented in the coverage areas of Ecuador. In coordination with the supervisor, the assistant will manage protection cases, community processes, and collect data for protection monitoring. Regular contact with local authorities and implementing partners will be maintained as requested by the supervisor. The assistant will also provide inputs for regular and ad-hoc reports to donors regarding protection activities conducted and assist in planning field visits, including donor visits. Additionally, they will support the implementation of relevant activities for the SIP as included in the CO Action Plan for their Unit/Team and attend relevant training modules of the Basic SIP Package. Other tasks may be assigned by the supervisor to fulfill the objectives of the position.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires some previous experience, including university internships related to protection responsibilities. Experience in support functions within humanitarian contexts is essential, along with the ability to work in complex and changing environments. Proven experience related to the responsibilities of the position is necessary, as well as some knowledge of the English language.
