Job Overview:
The National Project Facilitator and Liaison Assistant (NPFLS) will play a crucial role in facilitating the implementation of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) readiness project in Nauru. This position requires a proactive individual who can coordinate various stakeholders, ensuring that project activities align with both GCF requirements and national priorities. The NPFLS will be responsible for stakeholder engagement, project management, and reporting, working closely with the National Designated Authority (NDA) and other relevant stakeholders to ensure the project's success. The role demands strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse groups, including government agencies, civil society organizations, and private sector actors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The NPFLS will be tasked with facilitating the implementation of project activities, ensuring timely delivery of milestones, and coordinating project implementation among various stakeholders. Responsibilities include supporting the Technical Adviser and Lead Technical Officer (LTO) in monitoring project progress, organizing stakeholder consultations, preparing stakeholder engagement plans, and documenting lessons learned and best practices. The NPFLS will also provide essential support to the NDA in all matters concerning the GCF readiness, ensuring seamless execution of readiness support, project preparation, and implementation activities. Regular progress reports will need to be prepared and submitted to the LTO, ensuring effective communication among all project partners.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a high school diploma and at least 2 years of relevant work experience in climate change, project coordination, and stakeholder consultation, particularly with the government of Nauru. Familiarity with the local context and challenges is essential, and candidates must be nationals of Nauru, based in the country.

Educational Background:
The position requires a high school diploma as a minimum educational qualification. Higher educational qualifications from accredited institutions recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED) are preferred and will be considered during the selection process.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 2 years of relevant work experience, particularly in climate change, project coordination, and stakeholder consultation. Experience in managing or coordinating international, regional, or national projects related to agriculture and the environment is highly desirable. Work experience in multiple locations or areas of work, especially in field positions, is also beneficial.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory, as strong written and oral communication skills are essential for effective reporting and stakeholder engagement. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not explicitly required for this position.
