Job Overview:
The position of Intern, Staff Council at the EBRD is a six-month paid internship designed to provide support to the Staff Council, which serves as the internal body representing employees' interests. The intern will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and accuracy of internal data analyses and presentations directed towards Management and the Board. The role involves enhancing the communication profile of the Staff Council, drafting Position Papers, and managing various documentation and correspondence. The intern will work under the supervision of the Associate, Staff Council, and will report directly to the Chair of the Staff Council. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insights into the workings of a major international financial institution while contributing to the welfare of its employees.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern will undertake a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: conducting qualitative and quantitative analysis of Human Resources data, preparing periodic and ad hoc reports, and performing original research to inform Staff Council members about relevant external developments and socio-political and economic trends. The intern will also assist in preparing presentation materials for Staff Council meetings, collating comments, drafting briefing notes and position papers, and updating the Staff Council intranet site. Additionally, the intern will be involved in knowledge management activities and will be expected to attend regular Staff Council meetings to stay informed about ongoing discussions and initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree obtained within the last three years from a leading university, preferably in social sciences. Excellent written and oral communication skills in English are essential, and proficiency in one of the official languages of the Bank is desirable. A working knowledge of a second language from an EBRD country of operation is considered an advantage. Strong quantitative and numerical skills are required, along with the ability to consolidate large amounts of information into concise documents. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, is necessary, and basic HTML skills are desirable. The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively both as a team member and independently, manage time efficiently, and possess strong networking skills.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in a relevant field, such as social sciences, obtained within the last three years. Candidates should have a strong academic record from a recognized institution, demonstrating their capability to engage with complex topics and contribute meaningfully to the Staff Council's objectives.

Experience:
The position is aimed at recent graduates or individuals with limited professional experience, ideally within the last three years. While prior internship experience in a similar role or within a human resources context is beneficial, it is not mandatory. The focus is on candidates who are eager to learn and develop their skills in a professional environment.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory for this position, as it is the primary language of communication within the EBRD. Additionally, having proficiency in one of the official languages of the Bank is desirable.
