Job Overview:
The Senior Finance Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial management and accounting systems of the Country Office. This position requires ensuring accurate accounting practices, timely reporting, and compliance with both local and international financial regulations. The Senior Finance Manager will be responsible for budget forecasting, tracking expenditures, and conducting financial analyses in accordance with FHI 360's policies and the requirements of various funders. The role also involves ensuring adherence to local statutory regulations and FHI 360's global policies, thereby maintaining the integrity of financial operations within the organization. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day financial operations, ensuring that all financial data is entered accurately into the accounting systems and that financial records are maintained in compliance with relevant policies and regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Finance Manager will oversee the financial and accounts management of the country office, which includes managing daily financial operations such as accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries. The role requires ensuring timely and accurate financial data entry into the Global Financing and Administration System (GFAS) and maintaining financial records in compliance with FHI 360 policies and local regulations. The manager will prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to headquarters, assist in preparing annual work plans and budgets, and track project expenditures against budgets. Additionally, the Senior Finance Manager will implement internal control systems, monitor financial risks, and ensure the accuracy of various reconciliations. The role also involves supervising finance team members and carrying out internal and external audit functions, ensuring timely resolution of any audit findings.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field, along with five to seven years of leadership experience in financial management, budgeting, and accounting for complex programs. Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with seven to ten years of relevant experience is acceptable. Knowledge and experience with finance and grant management systems are essential, as is familiarity with financial management for United States Government (USG) and other funders. The ideal candidate should be proactive in managing multiple tasks and flexible in working with teams across different time zones. Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are required, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Educational Background:
A Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field is required for this position. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree may also be considered if they have extensive relevant experience in financial management and accounting.

Experience:
The position requires five to seven years of leadership experience in financial management, budgeting, and accounting for complex programs. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree should have seven to ten years of relevant experience. Experience with finance and grant management systems, as well as familiarity with USG and other funders’ financial management, is highly desirable.

Languages:
Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Nepali are mandatory for this position. Documentation skills in these languages are also essential, as the role involves preparing various financial reports and communications.
