Job Overview:
The Operations Analyst position at the World Bank's Korea Office in Seoul is designed for a dynamic and experienced professional who will contribute to the office's work program. This role involves supporting knowledge sharing, operational support, and various office activities in collaboration with World Bank units, Korean partners, and development clients globally. The Operations Analyst will engage in research and analysis on international development topics, assist in producing reports, and provide administrative support for office activities. The position requires close collaboration with the Special Representative and entails a comprehensive understanding of the World Bank's strategies and operations in the East Asia and Pacific region, particularly in relation to Korea's development initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Operations Analyst will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including:
  • Work program and operational support: Contributing to the formulation, monitoring, and assessment of the Korea Office's strategy and work program, preparing business plans, and reviewing documents for consistency.
  • Projects and programs: Engaging in operational activities related to project design and development, tracking Korea-financed projects, and preparing briefing materials on program issues.
  • Research and analytical tasks: Conducting substantive research on operational and sector issues, preparing analytical reports, and developing metrics for office program results.
  • Knowledge coordination: Assisting in the implementation of a knowledge management strategy, organizing knowledge exchange programs, and maintaining databases of contacts.
  • Outreach and partnerships: Promoting effective communication with stakeholders, writing and disseminating materials about the World Bank's activities, and developing partnerships with universities and think tanks.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or equivalent in fields such as economics, business administration, political science, or international affairs, along with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience. A strong understanding of the Korean context, including its political, economic, and social landscape, is essential. Additionally, candidates should have knowledge of operational processes and the ability to design and implement knowledge management initiatives. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are required, as well as excellent communication abilities in both English and Korean.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position includes a Master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as economics, business administration, political science, international affairs, or public relations. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of international development and the operational processes of the World Bank.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of practical work experience in a related field. Candidates should have demonstrated experience in operational processes, project management, and knowledge management initiatives. Familiarity with the World Bank's strategies and operations, particularly in the context of Korea, is highly advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in English is mandatory, as the role involves extensive communication and documentation in this language.
